The non Christians in Calcutta, India, loved Mother Teresa and began following her example on account of the works she did to save the dying from the streets. She followed the teachings of Jesus by loving and carrying for the poor. Did she do this just so she could go to heaven? Hard to believe some folks see it this way. We do acts of charity because this is what Jesus wants us to do for each other. And as long as we follow his commandments sincerely, we know that when we did we will be united with Jesus in heaven. I never heard about working our way into heaven until about 4 years ago when I began interacting with the Protestant community on KZread!

My wife- a know it all protestant- does not question her protestant theology and I therefore have no means to evangelize to her because she thinks she's right and the Catholics are wrong- also because she hates the Catholic church - she mocks the virgin mother- she thinks the bible suddenly appeared out of no where- so I have no opportunity to help her see the truth because she does not care. It's a wedge in our marriage- so I pray and say my rosaries but... I don't feel that's enough. Any protestant that converts- the common theme seems to be that they convert because they begin to question their theology- but if you deal with someone who doesn't question anything - they see no reason to change. And if you force it... that doesn't work.

It cannot be the practice of Bible-Alone because it gives doctrinal confusion and continual division. Where is it in the scripture that Jesus said St.Peter does not have authority over scripture any more??? No man has the authority to modify or redefine the scripture what was originally given by GOD. Luke 9:1-2 - Jesus called His 12 Apostles together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and He sent them out to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal. Luke 9:5 - Jesus said to His Apostles "and wherever they do not receive you, when you leave thatvtown shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them". Luke 10:16 - Jesus said to His Apostles "he who hears you hears Me and he who rejects you rejects Me and he who rejects Me rejects HIM who sent Me". Luke 10:19 - Jesus said to His Apostles "behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall hurt you". Luke 10:21 - Jesus rejoiced in THE HOLY SPIRIT and said "I thank thee, FATHER, LORD of heaven and earth that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, FATHER, for such was thy gracious will". Luke 17:25 - Jesus said "but first he must suffer many things and bevrejected by this generation". Luke 21:36 - Jesus teaches us "but watch at all times, praying that youvmay have strength to escape all these things that will take place and to stand before the Son of man". Luke 22:31-32 - Jesus He prayed for our Church which He build throught His Apostle Simon Peter only "Simon, Simon, behold, satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail, and when you have turned again strengthen your brethren". John 20:21-22-23 - Jesus said to His 12 Apostles "peace be with you. As the FATHER has sent Me, even so I send you. And when He had said this, He breathed on them a d said to them "RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT, IF YOU FORGIVE THE SINS OF ANY THEY ARE FORGIVEN; IF YOU RETAIN THE SINS OF ANY THEY ARE RETAINED". John 21:17 - Jesus said to His Apostle Simon Peter "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because Jesus said to him the third time "do you love Me?" And he said to Him "LORD, you know everything; you know that I love you". Jesus said to Peter "FEED MY SHEEP". John 10:25-26 - Jesus said "I told you and you do not believe. The works that I dovin My FATHER'S name, they bear witness to Me, BUT YOU DO NOT BELIEVE BECAUSE YOU DO NOT BELONG TO MY SHEEP".
