The evil genius Jumba Jookiba designed his 626th experiment to be ruthless and destructive, but through 626’s exposure to Lilo, he appears to transform his behavior and become almost like a new creature. How could this vile, abomination, programmed to end worlds transform into a hula dog?

Sadly, the Experiments enrich ONE World only, and Sadly, Stich never uses his Intellect to become a Scientist or anything alike. Instead, he gets a Mid-Life-Crisis and goes to Japan, to meet a little Girl - which does sound kinda disturbing if you say it like that...

For those who didn't knew! Stitch Standarts-Phrase "Mega Nala Kweesta" can mean 'I want to Destroy Kings' or 'I seek Destruction' or Variations of this. That Phrase was also Stitches First Words ever, words that made a Council Member Puke, after he was asked to explain his Very Being! Think about that last Fact what you want.

In a bonus clip in Lilo and Stich 2, it shows how Stitch was made. He's a perfect chimera-like amalgamation of the galaxy's most fearsome creatures. Everything that these creatures were had been encoded into Stitches being. But Jumba must of over looked something in the creature's genome. That oversight was a pack animals need and want to belong. Some of the most fearsome and powerful creatures in the world live in packs. Or some sort of social group. Some more complex than others. The biological need to be apart of a family subconsciously probably lead to his change. But hey, that is just my theory.

Ah, Lilo and Stitch. My favorite Disney movie. Also I feel like you should have included Angel, aka experiment 624, in your analysis. She was designed to turn living beings, including past experiments, from good back to bad. So Jumba did plan ahead in case his experiments were ever compromised from their original programming. Of course Stitch was immune to her powers because he was created after her. This could add so much to this theory and I hope you notice it in a future video.

  • @GreatMewtwo

SuperWorldJumper Plus, it's also a testament to the experiments' levels of sentience, especially when Lilo could help Reuben realize his true potential by getting him to question why he makes sandwiches, and when Angel realizes that she could be loved beyond just her singing because Stitch shows that he loves her unconditionally.

Stitch shouldn't be taken so literally. Remember in the opening scenes that Lilo has a violent temper and bites another child. She also has a bizarre imagination, pretending her doll has spider eggs in its head and will die soon, as well as trying to make voodoo dolls of her classmates. While Stitch did become a literal character, I suspect the original concept for this film envisioned him as an imaginary friend for Lilo so she could externalize all of her personal issues. Lilo's bad behavior and outbursts stopped after she began trying to redeem Stitch. This idea also explains better why Nani was so adamant that no one else would understand Lilo. Viewed through this lens, Lilo's alien abduction is more likely grounded in Lilo's fears of being taken away by Child Protective Services, who she imagines as aliens punishing her/Stitch for being something that isn't her fault. Like Stitch, Lilo didn't make her a monster, she's a victim of circumstance. Cobra Bubbles' speech about needing Stitch to be a model citizen is really about Lilo's disturbing behavioral problems, which Cobra actually never mentions, instead only addressing Stitch's behavior and Nani's employment status. CPS would certainly talk to her hula instructor and would know she bit a child and has had other aggression issues in the past, yet it never comes up. The other kids treat Lilo like a monster, and it would make sense for her to imagine herself as one. This would also explain why Stitch wrecked her room and why his bad actions were of the variety a small child could commit. Lilo probably does lack a sense of purpose because her behavior makes Nani's life hard and because she doesn't fit in. She would be too young to remember her parents very well, so the talk of Stitch having no memories and no family to comfort him are applicable. All of Stitch's problems mirror Lilo's problems in a direct way. I would guess that this was simply too dark and Stitch being a figment of Lilo's imagination was abandoned at a very early conceptual stage, but it left an undeniable mark on the film. If we examine the film scene by scene, we can easily guess which core scenes were written first and which ones came later as Stitch became more literal.

IMO, it wasn't made clear enough that the primary cause of Stitch turning against his programming was the lack of cities on the Island. Stitch is programmed to find and terrorize cities - this is what caused him to breakdown and reconsider his purpose. Whereas 627 was given alternative goals to cover this situation and prevent this from ever happening.

In one episode when he went to one of the more densely populated islands on Hawaii, Stitch was furiously resisting the urge to destroy the city. Like Jumba said their was nothing to destroy, but in a large city his destructive programming was threatening to bubble back up. He fought against his instincts but it’s never truly gone from him.

  • @feraflauna3238

+WolfDragon and BritishBanana-Right, this was even explained very well in the actual movie. Stitch was put into an isolated environment where the damage he could wreck was pretty limited. And since he couldn't fulfill the only thing he was programmed to do, he realized he had nothing else and he was deeply lonely and alone. He started yearning for the love the mother duck showed for her babies and the love Nani constantly displayed for Lilo, love that Jumba never gave to him. He didn't know the concept of family until Lilo considered him part of hers, and at first, it scared him, but then he decided that he couldn't live without love.

This sounds reasonable to me. After all, in the series there is this episode where Lilo and Stitch compete in a dog show against Mertle and her dog (experiment) Gigi. To get to the dog show they have to travel to another island with a bigger city and Stitch's destructive tendencies kicked in for just a few seconds before he realizes he needs to calm down (though a little reluctantly). So his program indeed didn't change, just this awareness of self and those around him.

Disney is dark and despicable in Real Life, no matter what they bring out in movie-form. I am very dissapointed of Isaac here, who does not make any Standpoint about Disney and its Morality; for example the China-Antics. 'Critical Reviews' said fully and blunty what he thinks of Disney and how he related to it - like an absolute Legend that he is. But this Disney-Tuber not?

I always thought that the reason that Stitch and most of the other experiments were able to turn good was because of Lilo and her belief in redemption. To me Lilo and Stitch was about a lot of things, but a really important one was second chances and that if you give somebody unconditional love even if they seem like they don't deserve it at first, it might just have the power to transform them into something greater. Still loved the point about Stitch's intelligence and search for meaning, but I wonder if he would have seen a reason to begin that search if not for Lilo. At first he behaves somewhat, (not killing anybody or taking over Hawaii or anything, ) and uses Lilo to hide behind from Jumba and Pleakely, but eventually her goodness and faith in him is what has an effect.

I think another integral part of Stitch's programming was that he needed to destroy large cities (this is mentioned in the movie). However, in Hawaii, with no large cities around, completely surrounded by water, with no sci-fi technology to escape, all he could do was stay there and ponder his existence.

To add, my personal fave is Heat (609), for the reason that he didn't act like many other experiments; he was calm, observant, and friendly for a supposedly "evil" experiment, befriending his fellow experiments in the Dupe episode and even reforming on his own, without much in the way of help and even being in an environment that would've encouraged him to be evil and vengeful.

Agreed, this is quite possible... But the molecular charging for Stitch doesn't seem to explain the open glitches that are inherently placed in the other 625 before him. If the Federation didn't apprehend Jumba until the making of 626, wouldn't that mean that there was ample time to complete at least the last three or so before Stitch as 100% evil beings??

Stitch was never a monster, that's just what Jumba wanted her to be. After finally escaping the aliens that cruelly judged her and wanted her destroyed, Stitch evaluated herself and realised that she didn't want to be evil, and it was Lilo's love that showed her the way. Yeah she's naughty sometimes but that doesn't mean she's evil. And Leroy is a sweetheart too, it's just hard to get through to him. He struggles to be good but he can be good if he tries.

What I like about these 'theories' is that you actually explain what's more than likely to have been going on. Most theorists go to the extreme and overall theorize about things that most people could easily shrug off. This theory for example feels like an accurate answer to what was going on in Stitch's mind while answering a question that could go completely over your head I can put as much belief into this as I would if you wrote Lilo and Stitch, so for that, thank you. 🙃

I don't think he died. He fell into a coma, but Lilo rubbing his chest, created a small static charge that made Stitch regain consciousness. However, Stitch was still suicidal at that point. Fortunately, Lilo telling Stitch that he's her ohana, convinced Stitch to wake up and stay with Lilo!

Wow. Imagine how much deeper "Stitch has a Glitch" would have been if re-charging Stitch would save his life but would make him a pure evil monster. Stitch would have had to decide if it's better to live a short life full of love or a long life without it. It would really drive home the terminal illness undertone the film seems to push. Of course it would all be resolved by the power of love, just as it is in the film we have, but it would break your heart all the way through and be really profound. I love "Stitch has a Glitch." If it had an extra 15 minutes and tightened up a couple of its jokes it could have easily gone to theaters. It looks damn good and wouldn't lose people with the series lore. Also, it's the sequel Chris Sanders (the creator of the original movie and the voice of Stitch) actually wanted to make. Glad they let him.

I agree dude, stitch is one of my favorite Disney characters and if you really think about it his whole purpose was to wreck havoc on whatever planet he was sent to by Jumbaa had he not been arrested, but upon observing Lilo living her daily life he saw someone that was a lot like him in that she too was an outcast and didn't belong, she showed him kindness (probably the first other being ever to do so) and despite being destructive she always stuck with him and showed him the right thing to do (take the scene where Nani is about to throw him outside and lilo steps in and says that he's ohana, the look on his face says it all) another cool thing I noticed is that stitch decided to change on his own after learning things and spending time with lilo on earth, while all the other experiments needed to be told that they could do other things than destroy with their abilities and needed help to find their place, stitch saw what he was and saw the world around him and knew that their was more to existence than doing what he was built to do that's what makes him the most successful experiment of all (even jumbaa says this in that origin of stitch short)

I mean it could simply be that Jamba never expected that someone like Lilo would come around and even try to make the creatures good. He only started to make them so evil by genetic after trying to proof to stitch that he's not his perfect and best creation. So of course he designed it to not bow to anyone.

Stitch will always be my favourite of Jumba's experiments. It's the strangest thing. When I watched the movies and the series, the one I could relate to most, was actually Stitch. I understood Lilo and the others too. But with Stitch, it was different. Who hasn't started to question things and wanted to belong somewhere? I related to Stitch because he was just as weird and misunderstood as I was. Beneath all that destructive programming, Stitch has an amazing personality. He has a good sense of humor, he likes to laugh and relax but also doesn't shy away when his friends need help. And he just doesn't want to be alone. I just had a Lilo & Stitch marathon. And when I had finished watching it all, I felt really sad. It was like saying goodbye to an actual friend. I didn't even feel this sad when Mufasa died. That should tell you something.
