The giant ring around spawn would've been cool IMO, it's a large structure of obsidian that barely obstructs vision and can serve as a giant omnidirectional landmark around spawn.

As much as the Obsidian sky paintings were a cool novelty, I think anyone who's played 2b2t with shaders in the last year or two can attest to how annoying it is to no longer see most of Spawn's ruins baked in RTX light because none of it can get through the giant obsidian ceiling.

No matter how much of a bigger group you get, there is just no winning. Ofc, like you said, they can also grief it by placing even more blocks, but that would quickly go out of control, covering even more of the sky in a pissing race where no one wins.

IMO, them destroying project collective sky was a great move. Obsidian isn't permanent, but it's still a pain in the arse to remove. Plus, there's a difference between good obsidian art, and just plain ol' annoying.

I wonder if groups will resort to creating manmade lakes to replace the obsidian logos. Those obviously wouldn't block out the sun and they wouldn't be as much of an eyesore all while still being visable from a satellite mapping view.

There’s a simple counter to this: layered obby. Just place more above or below it and that’ll drastically increase how long it’d take

That will make it easier to grief. Currently, a single layer at build height prevents withers being created. As soon as you add more layers, withers can be spawned on the art.

I’ve never played this game once but I feel so invested after years of FitMC uploads. So entertaining!

Fit Mc, it's obvious you put a lot of real effort and structure in your videos which make them "real" content to me. Professional too. You deserve this job which is more than I can say for a lot of streamers and youtubers.

Its funny how this couldve easily just been a short chapter of a video on the success of the collective sky project, detailing a group that was deleting obsidian structures but was disbanded after they failed to stop the completion of the biggest structure yet.

I was watching some of these updates get posted on Reddit in previous weeks. Nice work, guys! I always thought there were too many of those things in the sky on 2b.

If one were to remove only some of the obsidian (like 50% in a checker like pattern) would it make it so that the structure could still be seen but it wouldn't darken the land below?

Of things I expected to survive a purge of obsidian on 2b2t, I did NOT expect Pekora to make it out

@@Chisien It was made by japanese players who were initially struggling to survive on 2b2t. A seasoned player who understands both japanese and english met a japanese player and they united the other japanese newbies under one banner, and after a while of training, they became good enough and decided to make that structure as their mark on the server. Fit actually has covered the entire story, just search pekora 2b2t and it is the first content you’ll see

Honestly that enormous one wouldn't be so bad without the center part. The ring around the sky would be neat and thin enough to stay.

I honestly had 0 idea that this was happening. I was heading back to spawn for fun, guess I’m now doing it to see this.

Hey Fit! Love your videos. Its in my daily routine to watch your videos while eating a grapefruit

Idea: build a base packed with so much tnt that when someone griefs it, they immediately crash. Then act like a noob, tell people to check out your cool build at (coords), and watch the magic happen. Bonus points if you can make mining the tnt set it off. I quite simply lack the resources and time to test this, but it could be quite interesting....

The way Java works means that it’s pretty much impossible to crash most modern PCs with TNT alone.

I think for the ones they aren't removing, they should remove blocks on a distant grid to allow sunlight below them. kind of fits the idea imo.

You know, I came onto the server for the first time and while I was traveling I decided to get a stack of obesidan for future convince as I travel more and more and I thought: "Eh no one would miss a stack from this nether highway..." And then BOOM, you upload this video and I got nervous for some reason. XD

Multiple accounts controlled by one single user is an old Avolition trick. Krysk had something like that in 2011, iirc 10 accounts in the exact same location dealing 10 times the PVP damage.

I find this entire operation to be counterproductive and dumb. The point of it was to remove the obsidian eyesores from the sky, but for a lot of them they just made them even more of an eyesore.

The obsidian drawings were not that bad honestly, they were kinda cool in the map Now is just a bunch of random blocks

This may be the start of a snowball effect of griefing any obsidian structure people can get there hands on

I liken the animosity to the structures like how developers built mega developments that loom over neighborhoods i

I really liked that giant circular structure, it looked so nice

they should've targetted the bigger artwork, them leaving it because of its size and cleaning everything else up encourages others to make enormous artwork to avoid griefing

They did say that they're gonna make a project specifically for the massive structure, so I expect a sequel to this video in a few months when they finally get it up and running

Now we can just expect that someone or some people will just take this as a challenge and continue building it bigger

If history says anything, and people that gose to this severs are clearly not the type to give up easy.

This reminds me of multi-instancing in Minecraft speedruns, same wall of instances onscreen lol

Considering what it took to get the project going Zi don’t think it’s gonna stop players from building art with obsidian, however I do think if anyone is gonna build an obsidian structure it’s most likely gonna be away from spawn out of fear of similar projects like this happening again.
