    Jose should’ve been on more. I grew up with the American version but recently watched the old UK versions, she was amazing and she did so well in the US one I’m surprised they didn’t have her back, or maybe she wasn’t available.

    there is not many occasions on this show where the audience applauds sheer talent, and I'm so happy josie contributed to one of these amazing moments in the US version

    Josie and Wayne should have a sitcom together. Their comedic chemistry is electric!

    She's from Britain. It would have been very difficult for her to fly out. She was on the British show plenty though. She's still good.

    She was a bit to edgy for US TV stations. ABC was afraid she's say something racy or swear. She said "cunt" one time on the show and wasn't invited back.

    @@Tkieron I just watched the clip you were talking about and I think she said "pussy". Hard to tell because it was censored. I don't think she was booted for that because if that word freaked them out, then it never would have made it to air in the first place. I think it was just because she was British and the travel from England to America would have been to difficult.

    Kitty Grimm Josie was a regular performer on the UK version up until the last season. If you want more of her you can watch the UK episodes.

    There are about a million amazing moments on Whose Line, but the Gilbert and Sullivan song with Wayne and Josie has to be the all time #1. The level of improv talent and musical chops, and to sing in unison and harmony, I mean....who can do this? Who can top this? Virtually every moment of every episode is comedy gold, but this is another level of incredible.

    Actually, I have a feeling they're assigned (or at least given a list to choose from) certain genres to use. Otherwise, how would they know exactly what instruments to put out?

  • @sirpuffmcdrunk1286

    @@julieschultz6363 I don't think this is true, because the keyboard can synth any sound they need, and in other episodes, you can clearly see Ryan and Colin screwing with Wayne with the genres and titles, and Wayne saying things like "you guys are the worst." Obviously all the players know Wayne and Josie's skills and preferred song styles, but I think this is the finest example of Wayne and Josie's musical talents. Also, their embrace at the end, which is a bit unusual for Whose Line, says to me that they knew they had just killed it. That couldn't have been planned.

    I watched an interview w/ Colin & Brad and they said that for the musical improv stuff, they'd go through everything that the musicians could possibly play and the singers would take suggestions from the producers just to get the vibe.

  • @julieschultz6363

    @julieschultz6363

    @@elbraymundo We assumed they have a list of genres to choose from because some of the instruments they set up are very genre-specific. For example, if there was an accordion laid out there, they might be doing a polka.

    Absolute masterclass of improv by Wayne and Josie, the latter is one of the best in the business, and I wish she was on the US version more often! Best place to see her these days is at the Comedy Store in London, where she still performs fairly regularly.

    Before the US version ever launched, the UK version ran in syndication in Canada (on Bravo, if I recall) and Josie Lawrence set the bar high. When she appeared briefly on the US show, as we see here, she elevated an already strong ensemble and held a masterclass. She'd worked with Colin and Ryan before, but I think this was the first time she and Wayne had shared a stage, at least on the show. Imagine if she'd been in the regular rotation, like Greg and Chip and the others.
