Whose Jesus is REAL? Comparing Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John - New Testament Gospels.

What is the difference between the four gospels? What if we compare the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John? Whose Jesus is REAL? In “The Cambridge Companion to Jesus” a range of biblical scholars describe how differently the canonical gospels depict Jesus. For example, Dr. Stephen C. Barton states: “The accounts of the life of Jesus in the four canonical gospels are irreducibly diverse. Each has an integrity of its own… we have to speak of ‘the Jesus of Matthew’, ‘the Jesus of Mark’, and so on. Harmonisation (i.e. trying to make all four gospels say the same thing), at least at the level of what the gospels actually say, is not possible… What it does mean is that our knowledge of Jesus will always be partial, always open to correction” (pg. 177). All four canonical gospels were written in different periods of time, decades apart, in different geographical locations and for different groups of people. Therefore, each of them focuses on what exactly concerned the communities of people to whom they were addressed. As a result, the portrait of Jesus in each of them appears diverse. This review focuses on such differences.

Lies All the synoptic Gospels point to Jesus as the divine son of God Matthew depicts him as the appearance of the God of Jews who fulfils Old testament prophecies Mark Gospels point to the same accounts also depict him as the appearance of the Yahweh to his people Luke follows the exact same narratives pointing Jesus as the divine son of God who has come into the world John calls him the word of God who created everything revealed to humanity in the flesh.

The four Gospels don’t reveal four different Jesus’s, they reveal one Jesus written about by four different authors with four different emphases to four different audiences: Matthew - Jesus as rejected Savior-King - written to Jews Mark - Jesus as Servant of God - written to Romans Luke - Jesus as Son of Man - written to Greeks John - Jesus as Son of God - written to the world

Not just "emphasis" really, they are very different character arcs and are rather irreconcilable... which is why "one" gospel was not good enough for early Christians who had written dozens but during the bibliolatry processes the bishops (who didn't care they were making "new holy scripture" now that they new the end of the world was not coming humanly soon) wanted THEIR PREFERED version to be at least included.

Obviously, you do not understand, that no one can add to or diminish YHVH's Words (as they have been recorded in The Torah for posterity); The Pharisees (Rabbis & scribes) did that very thing through their false/ misinterpretation. The Sadducees did not; however they shirked their responsibility as interpreters of The Torah, focusing on the work of The Temple. Thus, The Pharisees, not The Priests, forced The Jews to follow and practice customs and traditions even elevating over YHVH's Law. Their Oral Law was not commanded by YHVH, so it was not and still is not binding on The Jews. But, anyone, who condemns The Rabbis' Law especially someone who claims to be sent by YHVH, will face a horrible consequence. That's what the Beriyth haChadasha is all about. Those, who are holy and righteous vs. those who are power hungry liars. Christian leaders resemble the latter.

@@religiologEng I'm not an expert on this, but I read something a long time ago about the four gospels representing the four seasons of the year, or at least that's one application. The Garden of Gethsemane known as "The Agony in the Garden" spoken of in Matthew 28, was considered to be the Autumn season aka harvest time. Where it has Jesus sweating "drops of blood" in prayer, was likened to the crushing of grapes into wine. Gethsemane is translated as "wine press". In Astrotheology, Jesus is represented by the Sun, as it travels through each House of the Zodiac yearly. So, September, October and November would be the Fall season. That's Virgo (shown holding a stalk of wheat and a branch), Libra and Scorpio. The summer season that includes Leo the Lion (June) would be Jesus in the Gospel of John, where He is bold, powerful and in control. Astrotheology is known as the "Gospel in the Stars", and there are certain teachings that it was mapped out by Seth and Enoch in order that no one ever forgets the promises of God to send a Redeemer. The prophecies of the coming Savior were transmitted orally for a long time, and it is said the mapping of the zodiac happened so no one would lose track of these plans for man's redemption. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: Gen 1:14 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matt 24:42 Several years before the Nativity, the first coming of Christ, the "star sign" of Virgo the Virgin appeared in the sky as an announcement. Likewise, it appeared again on Sept 23, 2017, which some say is a sign of His second coming.
