Homie sold that knee so well that I thought it was hanging on by a tendon. Sammy's athleticism and MJF's selling really sold this match.

I don't even think it necessarily needed to end the match, they could've just posititioned it where Sammy's leg was under the rope so he survived. Would've been better than him kicking out, either way still a really great match.

That over the barricade spot that the video started with was the first time I actually gasped in fear. That had a 90% chance of getting fucked up, and it was landed flawlessly. Top 10 Holy shit moments of 2021 for sure.

The finish made sense, to protect Sammy from losing to a decisive pinfall/submission from MJF, even though that avalanche Tombstone Piledriver would've been a great way to end. Otherwise, that was an incredible main event between the two wrestlers that are the future of the company. Sammy makes an awesome role as a face and MJF proves here that he can back it up in the ring just as in the microphone, and major props to him for his selling of the knee after the Piledriver.

That kickout right after the avalanche Tombstone took me out of it for a moment. If MJF wasn't gonna get the win off that and he was gonna be selling a knee injury for the entire rest of the match afterward, it should've taken him at least 10 seconds after the move to cover Sammy.

Agreed! Sammy Guevara, though, kickin' out like that...with what could've been a very serious neck injury... all I can say is-Wow! He was probably just following script, though. I can only imagine, though, that he was in so much pain, that he really and desperately wanted to take the pin for the loss. If that move would have been off, even just a little bit more, that could've snapped Sammy's neck like a pretzel!

Yeah...but you just had to know that there was going to be outside interference on the part of the Pinnacle, that would figure into this absolute war between MJF and Sammy Guevara. They need to put these two magnificent warriors in a Steel Cage Match, and check under the Ring before it's lowered down, to make sure that there are no members of either team, especially The Pinnacle, that could be hiding under the Ring. Have the match be kind of like WWE'S Hell In A Cell Match. That'd hopefully be the best way to decide a winner between these two. Whether you like or hate MJF or Sammy Guevara, you've gotta admit-These are two of the top Wrestlers in AEW today! They're both double-tough!

Pardon my ignorance, but just what is a "New York Rules" Cage Match? I've been watching Wrestling for over 42+ years, but I've never even heard of such a match. I hope that it's good! The two best kinds of Cage Matches that I've heard of, and seen, are The Elimination Chamber, and, of course, Hell in a Cell. As for the latter one, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels were the first ever, to be in what was expounded to be a Revolutionary match. That was back in 1997, & it ended up being the night that Kane was introduced.

This was one of the best matches of this year in my opinion. They are the future of Aew.

Sammy has been my fav since I started watching aew when it first aired and this is exactly why

@@alano2475 Yup, and it's hard to do that depending on height, you wait for them to clasp being your back so they don't shift on the way down, then drop to the knees. You can drop to the butt, but you need to lean back putting all of the pressure of the fall on your tail bone. Not great but it works. Owen didn't and dropped straight down putting all of the pressure on Stone Cold's neck and that broke it. MJF did it the right well, the "Taker approved" way.

That tombstone of the top rope scared the shit out of me. That could of gone wrong quick.

I agree. Would like to see some sort of main event feud like a proper fully enclosed cage match. Pinnacle can get more heat in a Lumberjack or something or 1-1 with a cage match PPV decider?

Great match but that piledriver shouldve ended that match, that ruined the end for me. A tombstone like that shouldnt be just another move. Thats a kayfabe near career ending injury induced move right there.

Still these kayfabe spots are average when compared to NJPW lol. Those freaks chop their skin out, land on hard parts of ring, and take a dozen of finishers and signatures to lay down.
