Yep. Shame he didn't get decent league position at Everton. He had some good players and performances.

@@BrianFeral1 He got screwed over from day 1 at Everton, was promised funds the club never had. Players sold behind his back to balance the books. All the clubs best players had to be sold off because the club was skint. The fact he kept them up was a miracle.
Forgot how grim we were then !!!! So many over 30 players signed as well

Missed one major fact about Walter .It was Walter who first sent Big Dunc down to Everton .Big Dunc has utmost respect & trust in Walter Listen to interviews hear that respect Dunc has for Walter & Archie "Proper Fellas,Proper " Get impression anyone attempted bad mouth Walter in Duncs presence he would lay them out with one on chin lol Walter had an influence on Dunc .

Everton’s best season under Smith was 1999/2000, shame the club fell off a cliff come New Year! The Pembridge Hutchison Collins Barmby midfield was so good. His best signing was Kev Campbell, for me

I know what you are saying and probably agree, but Johnson sold him after a year when Smith didn't want to sell him and he didn't particularly want to go. One of the reasons I've always been fond of Dacourt is that I remember reading interviews with him long after he had left where he only had great things to say about the club and our fans.

@@robbieredball A lot of the squad best players got sold at the chairman's request. Smith never stood a chance, he was promised funds when offered the job and the club never had the cash to back him, so he lost players he wanted just to balance the books.
