Kendall and the Everton board should be blamed 'cos as you say this is where it starts. This was the start of our decline. You say about them lot buying who they bought in 87 we drifted/stagnated. A bit like we've done (as a club) under Kenwright. It wasn't the pull of Everton that was the problem, the club couldn't see the wood for the trees. Blind sleep walking just a mess of a football club through the last 31 years.

I think Tony cottee was Harvey best signing I'm sure it was arsenal that was after him rather than spurs but he chose us

Cottee gets an unfair rap from a lot of fans. He scored goals for us consistently, double figures every season in a team that didn't always play to his strengths. He did score in patches, bit like Yakubu in that respect, but his overall career record suggests he was a very good striker.
