Who Was China's First Emperor Qin Shi Huang? | The First Emperor | Real Royalty

Is Qin Shi Huang the most famous emperor in Chinese history? The first emperor and the man who united China, and gave it its name.
Throughout his life, he changed China, building new roads and connecting the Great Wall of China to stretch over 2400 kilometers. But his legacy doesn't stop at the Great Wall...his own tomb is legendary, being one of the largest in the world and guarded by the famous Terracotta Army. This ground breaking documentary gives us unprecedented access to new excavations at the major sites from his reign, and through reconstruction shows us how Ying Zheng became the first Chinese Emperor.
From Elizabeth II to Cleopatra, Real Royalty peels back the curtain to give a glimpse into the lives of some of the most influential families in the world, with new full length documentaries posted every week covering the monarchies of today and all throughout history.

History was just what was written. In the case of Chinese history, it’s written by historians from the succeeding empire, usually the one that ended the predecessor. So the loser was often depicted as corrupt. They are certainly weak but not necessarily corrupt. If corrupt, there are many other causes which the administration could help or correct. Look at US today! 😂

If you realize that Qin Emperor died 210 BC and SIMA Qian was born around 145-135 BC. He started complying the very first Chinese history writing after 104 BC. So more than 100 years passed. Given the many battles during Qin and early Han dynasties, the under-developed publications on bamboo strips, royal records were practically badly damaged. Parts of Sima’s writing were based on hear-say and it was difficult to investigate and validate.

Whom Can We Trust If No One Is Trustworthy? One of my favorite quips from Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is when Tom is defined as “a glittering hero…the pet of the old, the envy of the young,” and there were “some that believed that he would be President, yet, if he escaped hanging.” With these few words, Twain captured the essence of leadership in our world. Those who get to the top are the fiercest, most determined, and most ruthless. Today, the latter quality has become so intense that we can no longer believe our leaders, and certainly not trust them to have our best interest in mind. I am not accusing any leader in particular, or even leaders as a whole. It is simply that in an egoistic world, where people vie to topple one another on their way to the top, the one at the top is clearly the one who trampled over and knocked down more people than anyone else. Concisely, to get to the top in an egoistic world you have to be the biggest egoist. So how do we know whom to trust? We don’t know and we cannot know. All we know is that we are in the dark. In a culture of unhinged selfishness, any conspiracy theory seems reasonable, while truth is nowhere to be found. When every person who says or writes something is trying to promote some hidden agenda, you have no way of knowing who is right, what really happened, or if anything happened at all. The only way to get some clarity in the news and goodwill from our leaders is to say “Enough!” to our current system and build something entirely independent. The guiding principle of such a system should be “information only,” no commentary. Commentary means that information has already been skewed. Information means saying only what happened, as much as possible, not why, and not who is to blame and who we should praise. Concurrently, we must begin a comprehensive process of self-teaching. We have to know not only what is happening, but why we skew and distort everything. In other words, we have to know about human nature and how it inherently presents matters according to its own subjective view, which caters to one’s own interest. To “clear” ourselves from that deformity, we must learn how to rise above our personal interest and develop an equally favorable attitude toward others. This is our only guarantee that our interpretation of things will be even and correct. Once we achieve such an attitude, we will discover that the bad things we see in our world reflect our own, internal wickedness. Our ill-will toward others creates a world where ill-will governs, and so the world is filled with wickedness and cruelty. Therefore, all we need in order to create positive leadership-and to generally eliminate ill-will from the world-is to generate goodwill within us. When we nurture goodwill toward others, we will fill the world with goodwill. As a result, the world will fill with kindness and compassion. By changing ourselves, we will create a world that is opposite from the world we have created through our desires to govern, patronize, and often destroy other people.

He wasn’t the first emperor for China. He was first the Lord of Qin sovereignty and then he conquered the rest of the other warlords and unified the territories of the then China. Also, he didn’t lead the army to battles; he appointed his generals to do that and his generals, namely Bai Qi in particular, slaughtered the surrendered captives in Shanxi area, and even that, Bai Qi didn’t have to do it himself. Plus the execution didn’t go like that. Bai Qi told his soldiers to put a white band on their heads as identification to kill all that didn’t have a white head band. So this production misinforms the viewers. It’s better to discuss the script with an authenticated Chinese historian rather than approve whatever submitted. Another misinformation! He wasn’t the one starting building the Great Wall. Each of the warlords fronting the north constructed barrier walls to defend against the northern tribes. He just have some of them connected or repaired.

The incineration of bamboo text was because of the standardization of Chinese characters because each warlord kingdom had its own set, different from the rest. He unified Chinese characters according to Qin’s set. Thanks to him, Chinese can communicate despite the wide range of dialects because the same text has been in use ever since.

His death was not caused by toxification. The trip to honor Tai Mountain was an ancient ritual for emperor to pay respects and reconfirm his status as son of god. Just that. But it was a long trip across China all the way from the West to the Eastern coast. He died probably due to food poisoning due to hot weather.

spiritually and culturally, yes! QinShiHuang's creation of politically system is inherited by each single dynasty as a base and innovated on top of it even till today, at thi point, QinShiHuang is more than 2000 years old and pretty much long live! China today is more a QinShiHuang's style than Marxism. Marxism is more or less a problem solving tool to the Chinese, so as capitalism. And I believe that China's progression has proof that, from the toolkit prospective, Marxism is more efficient than capitalism.

There's still too many assumptions made when it comes to ancient history. Just like with the Egyptian pyramids, historians had said slaves were forced to build thede mega projects. As with this 1st Emperor's projects; all the "slaves" must have been perfected artists. 🙄 Another thing, regarding this 1st Emperor & "shooting big fish with crossbow ". It has been proven, he wasn't "mad" (yet). He really did succeed in whale hunting! Whale fat, whale parts etc was used in his mausoleum. He was in search of "an island of Gods with magical knowledge, including immortality". (Atlantis? Lol) But he did succeed in his whale hunting. Recent discoveries had calculated it to be couple hundred whales needed to produce the stuff found in his mausoleum. Then: for the "slaves" who were tricked & locked into the tomb. Historians make the assumption from the fact that no one afterwards, seemed to know how to build, or go in/out of the tomb. Therefore every builder must have been killed. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Secrets CAN be kept, you know. Then who were the ones who closed the tomb door to trap those "slaves"? (Were there many many bones found right at the pit doors? No. All the skeletons were laid out uniformly. ie. concubines & maid servants. Drank poison, had cups/bowls next to their skeletons). Many things are still assumed. We'd rather historians say they don't know, rather than make stuff up. Them making stuff up had held back real discoveries for generations! ie. Look at Egypt. The largest pyramids are not tombs!

It's like when an artist signs their name to a painting. So to did God sign him name on our DNA.
