Unlike the British version, the US version contestants have to pay tax on their winnings. In the British version, all cash prizes are tax free, you win £1 million, you keep that £1 million in full!

I think that’s the running gag for the show since after the $32k question you have a pitch black studio, lights only on you and the host, and suspense music blasting through the speakers 😂 so it’s designed to stress a person out hence them drinking the water and the audience laughing.

Hard to believe that this episode was a year & 1 day before my stepmother MARIE F.ROUTHIER 6-14-1913-3-24-2001 died from lung cancer/respiratory failure in a temporary nursing home in Colorado Springs Co.after leaving her home here in Baltimore for 48 years since 1953.Plus I had already been living with my lady friend Teresa Tolbert for already going on 5 years at our old house 3201 E.Monument St.
