We all know Plan A is Demidov, Plan B is Lindstrom but do you know about plan C? This is where Kent will show to everybody that he is the true Pokémon Master ! Forget about the Pitlick or the Xhekaj, watch him get all the Coles ! First he will trade the 5 overall pick to Calgary for the 9 and 29 over all pick ! With the pick number 9 he will draft: COLE Eiserman With the 27 he will draft COLE Beaudoin And, for the hat trick, he will pick at number 29 Cole Hutson ! Just like that we got the size in Beaudoin, the Goal in Eiserman, the shiftiness in Hutson and all the Coles !

    A few notes: -habs draft a D-man the entire fan base will lose there minds -all of these guys expect for Celebrini and Lindstrom would be reaches and would most definitely be picked up after trading down -most if not all of the guys mentioned would be closer to being wingers in the NHL, lindstrom may be a big body and all but his play style is not even close to that of a centre, he’s like a baby versions of Byfield who was moved to left wing and succeeded quite well

    I completely agree and even though Lindstrom will be great I think Iginla is an overall better fit for the Habs with his style of play and character. We already have Slaf who’s big and physical and crashes the net and Dach as our big 2C. Lindstrom would be a great addition but with Iginla’s underestimated potential, younger birthday, and better shot I think he’s the best player for the Habs. He moved up so much in the draft in the last few months imagine a whole other year of development.

    In terms of who I’d be most happy to see us get at 5th overall (excluding Celebrini because there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell) 1. Demidov (Montreal deserves an electric offensive star that we haven’t had in decades) 2. Lindstrom (I don’t think he’s as electric as Demidov but he would also shine bright in Montreal & solidify that top 6) 3. Levshunov (if both forwards are gone & he’s somehow still available at 5 I think it should be an automatic pick, I know we have too many D already but this would guarantee having probably the best D core in the league for a decade which is an attractive prospect) 4. Iginla (I really like Tij & think that he would be a great second line player & put up respectable numbers in the regular season & shine in the playoffs but something inside me feels like if he had a different last name we wouldn’t even be considering him…) 5. Parehk (like Levshunov, he would be an electric piece to add to our already great group of D & would be an awesome 1-2 punch with Hutson on separate pairings) Those would be the guys I’d be most considering but we have to see who will even be available. With any luck it’ll hopefully be one of Demidov or Lindstrom but if not there’ll still be great players to grab at 5

    If im Montreal. I'm not actually taking Lindstrom. I know hes a great fit. Wants to play here. Has a great frame and offensive celling. But so did Kirby Dach with Chicago. Who's play is definitely 3rd overall pick worthy but was slow to develop and has a lot of injuries. I think Iginla is too low offensively. Right now. We have no one who has hit 35+ goals on the roster. Celebrini isn't gonna be there. But goal scorers are still there. Like Eiserman. Sure he dosent play like Lindstrom but at the NHL level could develop physically with a 6'2 frame. And goalscoring. I think he's a second liner who gets a lot of PP goals. I think he will be like Zack Hyman. Maybe not like Hyman THIS year but in the past. Catton also brings that elite offense. I think Catton is great pick as well and could be a future top 15 offensive forward. My favorite: Ivan Demidov. He's a goal scorer. I think he will be like a Kaprizov and his game will translate. I see him as a 40+ goal 100+ point guy in the future. If he isn't top 3. I think at all costs we should try to trade up to Columbus at 4

    I don't think anyone can say no to a skilled 6'4 center only to pick some random wingers. A big center player like that can block shots by just being in the way, and that's absolutely precious during playoffs. Offensively, his presence in front of the net would be insane.

  • @4u2nvHock3y

    @4u2nvHock3y

    @elomellow1623 I get that. But when you already have Slafkovsky and Dach doing that job for line 1 and 2. It dosent really leave room for Lindstrom. I get he's great at it. But it's like having 2 offensive superstars on D. It kinda instead of making them both stars splits their stats down to around 50%-75% of what they can actually do. That's why I think if we're looking to make the most efficient team in our top 6 for the season and playoffs. Each line needs 3 stars. One plays defense primarily. One plays offense primarily and one plays physically primarily. We basically already have that. Suzuki Caufield and Slafkovsky. So now let's fill in for line 2. Physicality primarily. Dach. Defensive primarily Roy. Offense primarily (MISSING) So why would we take Lindstrom to fill that role instead of a Catton or Eiserman or Demidov whom all do that better? 🤔.

  • @4u2nvHock3y

    @4u2nvHock3y

    @elomellow1623 It's been proven to work too. Example; Vegas. Line 1 had Marchassault as the offense guy. Eichel as the defensive guy and Stone as the physical guy. Guess what? They went on to win the cup. And the offensive guy got the Conn Smythe. Oh that's not enough? Okay then. How about cup contender 2023 finalist Florida. You have Barkov as the defensive guy. Reinhart as the offensive guy. Tkachuk as the physical guy. Or Colorado? Rantanen is that physical guy. Mackinnon is that offensive guy. Landaskog/Kadri as that defensive guy. The past two Cup Champs and a current contender and former finalist all run that system.

Demidov is a great choice as well he can be a great winger. Hope is available by 5 but Hughes is maybe skeptical since he missed out on Mitchkov in 2023. Konsta is a great pick as well since he is Finnish and plays centre. He can be a great addition and the finish league is a great league to let him grow. But i also wanna add. Players who aren't primary goal scorers whom get mostly goals. Ex Lindstrom or Slaf take longer to develop. Along with injury problems. I think he's gonna be great and could literally be as good as a modern Lindros if everything is perfect. I want Eiserman. Big frame and a goal scorer. Is that what you are thinking, or getting ready to type? IM going on his past records, the 3 goals he has in the last 2 years. I know he's defense, but he can still put one in more then once a season. Ive been a Habs fan for45 LONG years, they seem to get longer every year, as we get worse and worse, except this year, we took some good steps, but that has NOTHING to do with Reinbacher. We would have been A LOT better off with Ryan leonard, or even Matvei Michkov, who will be in Philly for training camp this coming season. No one wanted Michkov, but no one seems to have a problem drafting Demidov, it's strange. Habs have been goaltender, or D first since we have stopped winning. Habs NEED offense desperately. The D is fine, in fast everyone knows, we have to get rid of some D, BECAUSE we need a scorer, if i was management, Reinbacher's name would be on top of my trade list. How tf did this turn into a Reinbacher comment??? Im tired of D first, and just hoping the offense finds its way. It doesnt work like that. If we had Michkov or Ryan leonard waiting for next year, with the players that we acquire this off-season, we'd be a lot further ahead then we r with reinbacher. I dont see how anyone can disagree with that.

IMO there is a clear top 3 in Celebrini, Demidov and Levshunov, then you fall into the « great but not amazing tier » where I can see stars, but also busts. Catton produced on a terrible team. 3rd most points in the WHL for in a draft year over 20 years. Only behind Bedard and Reinhart. It's a crime that he's left out of these discussions. I live in Kelowna, and Iginla isn't anywhere near as skilled, or as high IQ, or as play driver like him. Not even close. PS: He's a fantastic skater.
