    “He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:3-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬ "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved. The Key To Eternal Life: kzread.info/dash/bejne/p46Y2I-NpMyzm8o.html For evidence for Christianity and answered questions, check out kzread.info and kzread.info because if Jesus really rose from the dead it is the most important fact ever! One tip, don’t allow individuals in their acting define the religion. And second, don’t focus so much on the religion but the RELATIONSHIP itself. Not sure if that make sense but that makes a huge difference in approach faith, if that is your desire.

    @@YaBoy_JayDawg good advice. My gripe with Christianity (and any religion tbf) isn’t the people in it - I understand that most people, regardless of belief, are good and that bad people are just bad people. What don’t like is the claim to truth - ie. thinking mythology, like Adam and Eve, the creation story and that homosexuality is wrong - is true, when know things such as the Big Bang and evolution are ACTUALLY true. Me being a science guy makes me dislike that aspect of religion. But I’m all for having a personal faith if that helps you as a person

  • @jonathongeorge3093

    @@Youre What gave you the impression that the Big Bang & evolution are incompatible with Christianity? Science teaches us that "the Big Bang" (aspects of which are still under intense speculation by cosmologists & astrophysicists to this day) marked the beginning of time & space. What existed - or didn't exist - prior to "the Big Bang" is a mystery that most likely will never be solved or understood here on earth... after all, how could a dimension devoid of time & space even be comprehendible to us? As such, "the Big Bang" does not necessarily negate the creation story, nor does belief in the creation story negate "the Big Bang". As far as evolution goes, there have been some relatively new, eye-opening (& openly peer reviewed) findings in the field of computational biology suggesting it is scientifically tenable that we could all be descendant from a single human couple who lived within the past 6,000-10,000 years. It is entirely possible to not only be "a science person" without disliking aspects of religion, but also to be "a science person" AND a Christian (or a member of various other religious groups) at the same time.

  • @Youre

    @Youre

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@jonathongeorge3093 Some problems with what you said. Most of what you said about the big bang is correct. How does it negate the creation story though? Depends how you interpret the creation story. If you take it as the bible tells it, then you would have to believe it happened a few thousand years ago, that earth was created soon after, that the intention was for earth/us..... as of which is just wrong. The evolution stuff you said is highly ignorant. Human evolution is well understood. We have countless human fossils showing a clear path of evolution (albeit very complex - we don't know all the details, but we know a lot). We know homo-sapiens have been around for at least 300k years, that humans have been around roughly 3million years and that we broke off from chimps about 6 million years ago....... we may be able to trace a common ancestor of all humans back to a much more recent date (not as recent as you suggested), but this does not align with the idea of Adam and Eve or contradict evolution. You can be a science person with a personal faith if you choose, but once you gain an understanding of certain scientific truths you cannot logically reason with many things Christianity proposes. This isn't even touching on the reason religions exist in the first place and how clearly man-made they are..... ironically as a product of our cognitive evolution.

    @@Youre I understand & respect that you may not immediately digest everything that a stranger says on a comment stream ("accept it as gospel", if you will 😉), but classifying "what I say" as "ignorant" seems like a bit much (& presumptuous)... after all, I wasn't proposing my own uninformed theories but was rather referencing scientific theories that were peer reviewed & legitimized within the scientific community. I have some problems with what YOU said... particularly in regards to the Bible saying that the earth is only 6,000 years old. While this somewhat popular deduction is oft-repeated, it's inception is often misunderstood. It was derived simply by utilizing genealogical tables listed in the Book of Genesis and then also applying a strictly literal translation of "days" in the Creation of the world as being a single week from Monday through Saturday. The truth is that, whether you view it as a book of myths or not, the Bible does not specify the age of the earth. As for your knee-jerk dismissal of findings that I referenced from the field of computational biology, nowhere in my comment did I state that they "contradict evolution". If you, as a "person of science", are at all curious about the study that has received endorsements from various atheist biologists, you can look up The Genealogical Adam and Eve: The Surprising Science of Universal Ancestry by S. Joshua Swamidass. (or, if you prefer, just classify it as "highly ignorant" & rest assured that you already know all there is to know on the subject). I have no desire to convince you that you should hold some sort of religious belief. I have friends that are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Atheist, Agnostic, Secular Humanist, & even Anti-theist... I respect each and every one of them and have found that, in most cases, they have sustained their own beliefs by thoroughly challenging them & weighing them against other systems of belief (or non-belief). So, I suppose my only "problems with what you said" in your response is your presumption & condescension.
