"IT'S SO BORING!" My family used to go to a mcdonalds that was a little bit away from the busy city, the inside was so comfy and warm, there was a mini train traveling throughout the restaurant. The employees were so kind (They often left extra nuggets in our happy meals). We went back recently and the building was turned into the boring square building we all see driving in the high way

They _have_ Ronald in this line of collectibles, but it seems he's been demoted to a background character while Cactus Plant Flea Market Buddy takes center stage.

What's terrifying is that all the collectibles have four eyes!

I agree, when saw the commercial, I thought it was just one of those insult clips, like from MAD or something. I was shocked to see it was real. Thank goodness it's only for a limited time.

It’s interesting because while Grimace and Hamburgaler have made occasional appearances since the end of McDonaldland in 2003 (grimace just appeared last July actually) this is birdie’s first real appearance since the end of McDonaldland.

Well she did appear on occasion with the others in a couple Pakistani adverts from between then and now. One of such had them descending from a UFO and the end of it had the group all together but Birdie was stretching her neck all weirdly. Freaky

Birdie was McDonald's Scrappy Doo. An annoying child character with an irritating fake child voice.

Sadly, the McDonaldLand playground has been abandoned since 2003, the discontinuation of the McDonaldLand commercials in general and in 2000 when The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald was cancelled

In my state, I used to go to McDonald’s for breakfast and/or lunch/dinner, and I grew up with McDonald’s and kinda missed it a lot. Also, I didn’t know there were new characters…with four eyes? Darn, they look scary.

All the others (except for the Cactus Plant Flea Market guy) are actually much older McDonaldland characters from the '70's-'80's commercials. Left to right: Mayor McCheese Captain Crook Cactus Plant Flea Market mascot Hamburglar Fry Guy (species) Grimace Living Burger (other menu items got this anthro-treatment as well; think VeggieTales-type aesthetics but as puppets) Birdie Officer Big Mac Ronald

For some reason they gave the existing characters two more eyes like cactus buddy. If that isn’t cursed, I don’t know what is.

McDonald's didn't phase the characters out because they were loosing personality. They were FORCED to get rid of them thanks to a few lawsuits back in the day that ended up killing the mascots.

We have McDonald’s in our area in Pennsburg. There is also a Pikachu from Pokémon poster as a Happy Meal bag. I remembered seeing Camp Lazlo Hold It Lazlo (the episode where Lazlo has to pee after drinking too much lemonade in a contest with Edward, Samson and others) with a Pokémon Diamond and Pearl banner

I'm surprised that you didn't mentioned those happy meal minions when you were talking about McDonald's mascots. Then again, those creepy smiling boxes have nothing compared to Ronald & the rest of the McDonaldland gang. But I can see someone trying to recreate these figures as clay models, & possibly pass them off as the legit ones which wouldn't surprise me.

No one will ever beat Ronald McDonald as a mascot.

It's kinda weird that despite McDonald's not caring about Ronald and the gang that much, Ronald McDonald is the character balloon with the second most appearances in the Macy's Parade, with 27, and has made 22 consecutive parade appearances as a giant character balloon since 2000.

At least they didn't go "Hey we must get rid of every trace of him at all costs!!" and removed the animatronics/statues/graphics asap when that one meme came along (if you don't know what meme I'm referring to, then you prolly don't wanna know; likewise if you do, then don't tell those whom don't) like Subway did with the Jared decor. Just letting you all know: McDonalds New Zealand was still keeping alive the side characters via a road show that was happening multiple times a year pre-you-know-what and I think even a few times while we were in low risk levels.
