Clubber Lang was an underrated antagonist as he represented the raw hunger and fear a boxer can bring. Drago was physically intimidating but he lacked heart. Clubber Lang fell victim to the movie moment and scripting.

I think Clubber just lacked the discipline to control his anger hence why he lost to Rocky. I still think Ivan is the better fighter because he’s not only just as physically intimidating as Clubber but far more disciplined and patient. But like you said he lacked the heart during his fight. If he was really hungry for the win I think he would’ve easily beaten Rocky.

Sure he psyched him out and messed him up in 2 rounds, but he never, EVER, caused such damage that a doctor was convinced that if Rocky took one more blow to the head, he could just fucking die right there. Granted he likely visited a number of doctors later who confirmed the damage, while THERE wasn't near as fucking life threatening as what the first guy said, but the fact remains he got that damage and felt his fucking body betray him!

You know what the worst part of Rocky V was? That the commentators started calling Tommy "Machine Gun." His name is already Tommy Gunn! He's handed you a nickname on a goddamn silver platter! Why the hell are you changing it to Machine Gun???!!

In terms of attitude and spirit, I agree that Clubber Lang is the most dangerous. In terms of actual power though as a fighter, I say that Ivan Drago is the most dangerous. He’s literally a video game boss because he is a boxer with steroids. He killed Apollo Creed and he caused Rocky to get severe brain damage that’s irreversible.

I mostly remember the plot development from V because in Rocky Balboa they just kind of ignore the whole brain damage angle. One thing that confuses me is that him going to Russia to fight Drago cost him the championship, which would be weird if he was already retired

It’s obvious Rocky and Creed not only respect each other but are best friends so Apollo would likely want Rocky to kill him C. To be fair something that makes Rocky's victory over Drago more convincing, is that Drago was only an amuetuer boxer from the Olympics (amuetuers were only allowed to compete at this time). Meanwhile Rocky was the reigning Heavyweight champ for many years at this point. Drago did kill Apollo, but he was coming off a years long lay off and was way passed his prime.

Ivan Drago is the most vicious opponent rocky has ever fought and also he's a monster. he's even powerful than clubber lang.

In his prime, Apollo I feel would definitely be the most dangerous. He's already been in loads of fights before he fights rocky. He's like the most knowledgeable about boxing and the smartest.

A little trivia for you: Tommy Gunn was played by real-world heavyweight champion Tommy "The Duke" Morrison, who, as it turned out, had had HIV for most of his career. He was a real-world tank of a man, and one of the most dangerous fighters of his time, as he was superhumanly powerful and fast, but also highly skilled and intelligent.

After the street fight with Tommy Gunn, Rocky should be in a wheel chair with a drool bib. He's a miracle of modern science.

The greatest Rocky villain is the guys who wrote in the Robot into Rocky IV. In all seriousness, I vote Creed to be the best villain. He was fast, strong, perfect combination technique, and he has the will to win. It doesn’t matter who he was fighting, he could keep up no matter what. He pretty much had no weaknesses, and I think that puts him above all the others except maybe (spoiler alert) Victor.

My absolute favorite running gag (runner; it might not be a joke) is James' outright contempt for the KZread notifications system and Mason's delight in James having to plug it. "You've got to do it ALL, Mason." [audible eye roll] 😂

There's a scene in Rocky Balboa that is always misconstrued. When Mason Dixon's managers go to see Rocky at the restaurant to talk about the fight, after Rocky leaves, the manager says "imagine Dixon met this bastard in his prime? Kill 'im...kill 'im" Everybody thinks that he's saying that Dixon would beat Rocky but it's the other way around, he's saying Rocky in his prime would beat Dixon no contest. Also about Clubber Lang, they chose to base his fighting style on George Forman, all power and no longevity. Creed trains Rocky to be more like him and wear Lang down, during one of the early rounds of that second fight, Rocky even taunts Lang by saying "I ain't breathing heavy!" think Clubber Lang has the most dangerosity as you have to go through rounds of him just swinging like a madman until he gets tired and then you can commence with the pummelling. It's not like I'm a fan of the films or nothing!

rushaholic Isn’t it fairly obvious from the context that Dixon’s managers believe Rocky in his prime would have beaten him easily? I didn’t think anybody got that bit wrong. It was also a comment on the poor state of heavyweight boxing in the real world, compared to previous decades (which is still the case today)

Clubbed wasn’t even all that formiddale as y’all make him out to be. If you watched both fights, rocky easily got hits on him. Usually rocky is the one who gets hit first. The second fight was easy as hell for rocky. Yes he got beat up but that’s the usual. Drago is easily the most dangerous. Rocky has never been the same since that fight

@@philcorrigan5641 i believe heavyweight went through a rough time, however i would say with people like Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Luis Ortiz, Dillian Whyte, Joseph Parker and Tyson Fury, the division is probably better than what the 1990's and the 2000's had to offer, but the 1970's and the 1980's were by far the golden age of heavyweight.

Tommy "Gunn" Morrison also was a real life boxer who won the WBO and IBC titles and is still considered as one of the hardest hitting knockout kings of all time. His career record was 48-3-1 with 42 knockouts. That's just crazy!

I love how Rocky just blocks all the punches with his face.

You can't even call them villains in these movies anymore other than the promoter in Rocky 5 cuz he was the one that manipulated Tommy Gunn to fight Rocky at the end. But the greatest and most dangerous villain in the Rocky movies is TIME because time defeated Mick, Apollo (Rocky told Adonis that in the restaurant), Adrian and Paulie

In my opinion, Ivan Drago is the most dangerous, but if Clubber Lang would have the same training and enhancements as Ivan Drago, or the mentoring Rocky got from Mickey and Apollo then Clubber would be the most dangerous.

You can't have Joe Fraizer in a boxing film "pretending" to box. He broke Muhammad Ail's jaw for God's sake

Apollo Creed- Most speedy Clubber Lang- Most dangerous Ivan Drago- Most unpredictable Tommy Gunn- Most adaptable Mason Dixon- Most accurate Ricky Conlan- Most cocky Viktor Drago- Most unorthodox

Couple things to note real quick: Rocky 1-Apollo is at the end of his career and has been lacking in training. You can tell by the way we see him throughout the movie. Rocky 2-Rocky has more than 3 weeks with Mickey, so he actually is in better shape(note: Apollo isn't even in his prime at this point. He is about 40. Also, during the fight he permanently damages Rocky's left eye), Rocky 3-Clubber Lang is spot on, good work, Rocky 4- Not only was Ivan Drago on steroids, but he was also breaking every known Athletic record. He easily was the strongest person to ever appear in a Rocky movie. Also, Apollo was 50, out of practice, danced for ten minutes before the fight, and told Rocky not to help him. Rocky 5-Fuck him, he sucks. Rocky Balboa-Rocky, a 60 year old man with brain damage, an eye that can't see, and without any support besides the memory of his deceased loved ones, is fighting the current boxing champ, still in his prime. That guy must have been weak, as it was a tie until the judges made their decision. Creed-Hate what the movie represents. Its a money grab off a legacy movie. The villain was weak. You know how we know: a rookie, trained by a famous ex-boxer beats the current champ. Sounds like Rocky, but here's the difference: this guy was at 100% and was not at the end oh his boxing years. He was actively training and at his best when the fight came. Creed 2-Once again, this is a legacy money grab, but when they thought people might realize that, they incorporated some of Rocky 3 in the movie. The Russian champ just got out of exile, and is making a name for himself. He challenges the current champ who is out of his prime, beats him, and becomes the champ himself. Then the former champ will go train with someone he knows but refused to help him, until after the fight. Then, after that, he will find the strength to beat the villain effectively ending their feud on a tie of 1:1. This is the plot of Rocky 3 with a bit of background in Rocky 4, but its Creed 2. The only difference is bringing a good story for the villain themselves. This is what i despise about Creed: Its an attempt to copy and paste Rocky movies. Its why it was cancelled, why Sly Stallone doesn't want another, etc. So no, the new Drago can't be more dangerous than Ivan was.

yea people tend to forget about clubber and throw him under the bus just because he didn't kill anybody in the ring, clubber was ruthless in rocky 3.

he didn't kill mickey, a heart attack did. all he did was push mick out of the way, hardly anything that would kill even a90 year old woman, unless she suffered a heart attack.

For what it's worth, four of those opponents were real boxers: Spider Rico - Pedro Lovell (17-2-1) when Rocky came out. Tommy Gunn - Tommy Morrison (23-0) when Rocky 5 came out. Mason Dixon - Antonio Tarver (24-4) When Rocky 6 came out. Ricky Conlan - Tony Bellew ( 25-2-1) When Creed I (Rocky 7) came out.

SOLOWOLFPLAYZ Ivan, Clubber, Victor, Apollo. These four are the top from most dangerous to least. Then, the guy Adonis fought the title for, then the guy Adonis lost the sparring match against, then Gunn, and lastly, Dixon. But, Rocky was his own worst enemy, then the bad eye, time, loss, brain damage, cancer, and depression. These last seven were the worst hit hardest and caused him the most pain.

I actually do love the whole Rocky & Creed series, but I do love Rocky 4 & 5 because of the particular fights. 4 seeing Rocky beat Drago is amazing to watch every time, but the street fight at the end with Tommy is *Chefs kiss. It also took a few watches of Rock 6 to really love it, and the fight is pretty entertaining, just sad to see Polly so broken. And in Rocky 6 if Rocky were to have trained more before that fight, he probably would've won it, though I believe if I remember, Rocky did the fight for fun

In something you're wrong: boxing with gloves is way more dangerous than boxing without them. The gloves are made in a way that they protect your hands so you don't risk breaking them, therefore you don't need to pull your punches. But also they add weight (about 250grams each) enhancing your hability to do damage.

Best to worst villains 1. Apollo Creed (Rocky I, II) 2. Clubber Lang (Rocky III) 3. Ivan Drago (Rocky IV) 4. Pretty Ricky Conlane (Creed) 5. Viktor Drago (Creed II) 6. Mason Dixon (Rocky Baloba) 7. Tommy Gunn (Rocky V) But in all honesty, they've struggled to craft a compelling villain since Clubber.

Apollo Creed is actually considered the GOAT in the Rocky universe.

Ivan drago was very sympathetic in creed 2. Actually felt bad for him in the drama scenes with his son

Well I would say [SPOILER ALERT!!!] Viktor Drago cuz he's falling his daddy's footsteps killing many men in the ring in CREED II or putting them into a coma but Donny almosted got killed if it weren't for the referee stopping Viktor if that were not gonna happen I would say Adonis followed his dad's footsteps of losing energy and lung air for that shadow boxing🥊

Viktor and Ivan are very similar in terms of power, cant really tell who was more powerful but he was damn impressive.

I think it's an tough competition between Clubber and Drago.Drago was a silent killer while on the other hand,Clubber was aggressive as hell!!!!!

Well...line 'em up....Drago has the height, reach, weight and strength advantage over Clubber. The only thing Clubber does better is trash talk. In a boxing match Drago in his prime knocks out Clubber in the 2nd round.

Drago hit with a force of up to 2,150 psi with given the estimated 4 square inches impact zone of his gloves would equate to 8,600 pounds of force. At the weakest points of the skull it only takes 1,100 pounds of force to break a human skull. Realistically with dragos punching power any fighters skull would be shattered after only a round or two if they even lived that long. Therefore Drago is way more dangerous than clubber.
