Yeah I was there and thought it was a brilliant twist for a promo. Was 100% convinced he was going to say that he had to retire or not wrestle for the indefinite future, and the crowd would have been with it.

This wasn't a promo ,this was just heart warming

What a great return. Some people can talk crap about his size but the reactions he gets from the crowd is one of the strongest, BAY BAY!

This was one of their best ever episodes so that isn't a big surprise but tbh they've been on a great run of Dynamites for quite a while either side of this show.
This wasnt Adam Cole.. This wasnt Chugs ... This was Austin Jenkins.. A raw passion and emotion.. he layed it out there thank you Welcome back

This was absolutely the right call on their part to establish Cole as a babyface with this promo given how over he's always been and how the fans genuinely missed him as he said himself. Now they have a chance to push him up the card and be the main event guy that he is rather than shove him into the background, but I'm optimistic and we'll see what happens

@@philliparthur8672 the thing about Cole is that unfortunately I can't take him seriously as a major heel despite how talented he is. He's unbelievably talented and gifted in the ring. But physically? He's very average and plain looking. Hangman Page is bigger than Cole. Even Kris Statlander is bigger than Cole. Especially since we now know that Cole is like the sweetest, nicest dude ever in real life. You book Cole like an underdog babyface and you could make tons of money. Even his entrance alone screams total babyface vibes.
It always nice to see a wrestler come back from injury and have that emotional depth that just tears the audience apart because they gave it their everything.
There's something about Adam that reminds me so.much of Edge. From the way they work as heels, awesome songs, promo work, and i felt similar seeing him return as i did with Edge. Man im so happy you're okay Adam.

Babyface Adam Cole was much needed for him. He's too good to be hated. And he's a sweetheart in real life, never involves himself with any controversies, never talks stupid, always respectful to his friends and fans even though those "fans" body-shame and troll him unnecessarily. Man went through so much and still is so thankful and respectful towards everyone. That is one gem of a human being.

One of the most genuine surprises in AEW. Tony Schiavone telling the crowd he takes no pleasure in introducing his guest (fans guessing it would be MJF) and the music kicking in was an awesome pop. Obviously a lot of plans have changed, Kyle is out with a neck injury, Bobby is looking for the lie. But I hope Cole gets the run of his life. Welcome back Chuggs

@@stevonwhite8933 at forbidden door he got an concussion and didn't return until last night. I almost didn't order forbidden door but after watching it I'm so glad I did.
I'm glad that, at least for tonight, they just let him cut essentially a face promo. There's pretty much no way he was going to get booed returning after his injuries, and it's way better to lean into that and let him really speak his heart while also building that fan connection. If they do decide to have him go back to being a heel (either right away or down the road) that connection being built will help make that turn back to heel feel more like a betrayal than if he returned and tried to fight against the current. Personally I hope they keep him as a tweener/face, as I feel like he has far more interesting matchups going that route. Plus I personally think that, as much as he is good at doing the things expected of a heel, he also quite often doesn't feel like the fans treat him like a heel, no matter how hard they try to make him the bad guy. As long as they don't try to make him a white meat babyface or strip him of any of the things that fans have always been behind while he was a heel - which AEW seem to have a pretty good track record of not doing - he could easily slot in as a top face for the company. Could even let Mox finally take that vacation he was supposed to get after his match with Hangman, and let Cole pick up some of that slack.

When people say "Trolls wouldn't be so bold in real life" that just isn't true. There are people who are just the right amount of bold and stupid to do what they do online in real life. Like however you feel about Adam Cole the wrestler, this was the guy who plays him on TV telling us about his real struggles, thats the part where you stop doing the sports entertainment stuff and just listen to the man, and understand him.
This was not a promo, This was a man telling the world his story and Letting us into his life. So good to have him back!!
