50/50 is impractical and unfair to women. You will be contributing 50/50 in finances and when it comes to manual labor in the home you’re like 99/1 where 99% falls on the woman. Women who agree to such madness are shooting themselves in the foot. As for me, I refuse to do it. Balance is key and 50/50 is not balance. Unless we go 50/50 on chores too .

At the end of the day, there's no one way to have a relationship. It all comes down to what the couple is comfortable with. There can't be that whole, only the man should.... or only the woman should..... thing anymore. There is no right way, just different ways that are right for you.

i honestly loved this conversation. as for me 50/50 rule on finances for a couple is a NO. women have more expenses than men do and they are expected to do even more in a union like cooking, taking care of the house and birthing the children, Generally Women endures a lot to be honest and are always left emotionally, financially and physically drained by men. i find that a women is in her best when the bills are being taken care of by the man of the house ... men who expect to have a traditional women (the one who cooks, clean and take care of the home) should also work hard and be traditional man (PROVIDE FOR YOUR WOMAN AND CHILDREN).... Men and Women ARE NOT the same nor equal , feminism might have fooled many in thinking we are we really are not.Women, please sit firmly in your femininity and watch how things fall into place.... peace and love

In marriage each person has to give 100% all of the time. All opinions should be heard in a relationship and a decision has to be made. Both people have to compromise a little and find a middle ground, as long as ‘core principles’ are not compromised.

I love this. I can't say yes or no for the 50/50 rule, especially since I'm not old or mature enough to be in such a relationship right now, so my opinion will surely change. When you talked about the scenario of being promoted and moving to another place, I totally stood with what Sharon said "what are my options there",very intelligent. Timini said he feels it's just like every other decision but you have to let someone have the final say. I don't entirely agree with that. Moving your entire life to another country is very different from deciding where to go on weekends,or what to buy etc, this is her picking up her entire life(and the kids if there are any) and moving it for you, so I think you both should reach a decision TOGETHER. Whatever works best for you both, although she most probably will compromise. Anyways I really love this and they all spoke intelligently. Also, my respect for Mimi has quadrupled! Can't wait for more👏🏽👍🏽

This is why I won't agree to 50/50 relationships. At the end of the day, men still will behave like men. Despite you paying half of the bills, he still wants you to submit to his authority and he still expects you to do wife duties. There is no such thing as 50/50. Gender roles will always kick in.

I don't expect my man to pay the house bill all by himself, we'll pay it together. For me 50/50 means we are paying the bills together but you also have to cook n clean. If you want 50/50. We are gg all the way. You cannot expect me to pay everything half with you and you're not lifting a finger, not even to wash your own clothing. I think that it should be sth ya'll negotiate, whatever fits the couple but for me this is how it would be.

Does this 50/50 thing also mean house hold chores?? As in, I cook today he does dishes, he cooks tomorrow and I do dishes. Do you see where I'm getting to? What about when it comes to decision making, 50/50 that now means there's no head of the house right?... I agree with Sharon... Man will take the rent, I take the small bills like food, cable etc. Same way he won't always have to cook clean etc, just once in a while... P.S, the chores won't apply in Africa because most have helpers, but in the UNITED KINGDOM we don't have ooo.
