After this scene when both are rescued and found alive, Ethan's arms had to be dethawed and pried apart from the Captain Reyes because he was cradling him tightly to protect him in space, keeping every last ounce of oxygen in his suit. Respect.

"I think I'm scared, sir" just hits so different when you realize that this implies that this is the first time Ethan has felt fear, and it wasn't even for himself. He wasn't scared during the geneva attack. He wasn't scared when the Mons dropped in. He wasn't scared when he almost got crushed on the moon. In fact, he wasn't even scared when he had to sacrifice himself on the shipyard. He was only scared when Nick was almost certainly going to die.

This game is so underrated it's ridiculous. Of all of the CoD games that I've played, Infinite Warfare was the most emotional, especially the ending when you listen to the voice logs of every soldier that lost their lives. I cry every time I play the campaign, especially hearing Ethan saying that he's scared.

If you have played destiny 1 or the beginning of destiny 2 Cayde 6 is the funny robot dude. There are also a couple of other games with amazing nonhuman characters. Well there are quite a number of cod games that are underrated or thought of as bad because many people focus on the multiplayer aspect of the game. Like MP player operator customization was the greatest in CoD Ghost with such variety. The campaign for Ghost wasn’t bad and the end was interesting, which really made me want a second ghost game to find out more. Advanced warfare had good concept and ideas in its campaign and the story for that one was okay, infinite warfare was interesting as well with the idea of having a custom loadout with each mission you did

It's sad just because a game has a mid multiplayer people assume it's bad. I enjoyed the story, and zombies. The multiplayer had it's moments but the zombies and campaign was where it was at but probably takes more time than multiplayer and buying skins

Honestly CODIW was underrated the campaign was one of the best ive seen so far with unlike other COD to choose what mission to do insteadbof just havikg to follow a line (even tho it still kind of the case) with différent secondaire missions that allow you to grow you arsennal ans to update your gear

Ethan was and still is the best part of CoD IW and i miss him so much.

"I'm hardware, ultimately expendable." The fact that he *knows* that, but can (albeit cooly) experience terror in the face of certain death, really shakes the way we look at sacrifice in this setting. Hell, the whole scene does. Meh-tier game, but this scene right here was such an incredible piece of writing. "Captain, what do I do?" He's even seeking guidance. Right in the feels, man...

​@@St.Raptor Just do what you can and try your hardest to sin less and be faithful. We suffer here on earth because God has a bigger surprise waiting for us in heaven. If we have been good we will be welcomed at the gates of heaven. We may even see family and friends. Jesus Christ died for us on the cross because he knows some of us will come back to God. This scene hits so hard cause they are expressing there last words for each other like there actually brothers in real world but they never see each other and one of them is on his death bed and the other keeps talking how great life was when they were young.

My favorite part was that they gave ethan the call sign Metal 01 as an ode to Sandman in MW3

I missed these days of fun and memorys of cod but im older work needs to be done but at least it happened

I think it's because most of our morality involves keeping people alive, safe and happy. When either of those things are at risk, our desire to preserve life kicks in, especially when we have an attachment to them. For a machine to claim that they are experiencing fear, it implies that they are, in the emotional sense, alive; hence our desire to preserve it and sadly, grieve when we cannot. When a robot we make becomes emotionally alive, it can be seen as a human child. We treat it as we do our own kind. That is why it hits so hard.

"I think I'm scared sir" the line that hits me where it means the most.

It is always a heartbroken moment that ethan try his best to keep Reyes alive as his sadness overwhelmed him.

Iw's campaign was so underrated I just played through almost the entire campaign again and it was a blast to see Reyes's stroy again Peace to the Fallen🫡😢

I'm glad to have Ethan as a playable character in codm.

Let’s all be real here, Ethan was by far the best character in all of call of duty. He was a cool robot and stuff, he had all care for Reyes and that he didn’t want to lose him. Even at the other ending of the game those final words that Ethan said before his time was about to be up “good luck Reyes. It’s been an honor. Sir” that right there hit even more harder.

Ethan is a good character but not the best. There are many good ones like Price, Soap, Woods, Mason, Hudson etc
