(There are better ant setup supplies by “Ant Shack” and there is a link in my bio if anyone is interested!) Hey all! It’s come to my attention that these gel ant farms are not the best long term housing option for ants. This was a gift that my son had received. I’m going to do a little research and get these guys into a better housing situation ASAP. Below is a brief summary of what I found in a quick search. I apologize for not looking into this more thoroughly before posting. “Gel ant farms are not a safe long-term option for ants. The gel material does not provide the necessary environment and proper moisture levels for the ants to survive. In addition, it can quickly become contaminated, further harming the ants”

do some research on how big and colonies can get. if your ready to house and fund it. ik as a kid my parents didn’t 😢. if you do your in for such a wonderful curious world. you can create such a beautiful world for our tiny friends that can thrive and you can introduce stimuli to train them. make them adapt. it’s really cool to build and grow.

@@dabsallday9938 Queen ants are the only members of a colony to lay eggs. After mating, they can produce thousands, sometimes millions, of eggs during their lifetime. Not every colony of ants has a queen. A healthy colony can survive for months without a queen, but without her, the colony will stop producing eggs. Without eggs, there are no new worker ants to replace, and the colony will eventually end. Some colonies have multiple queens. 😅
