I know the 2003 Clone Wars isn't canon anymore, but in that, Grievous does not recognize Palpatine as Sidious when he goes to kidnap him on Coruscant. It's probably safe to assume the same is true in canon

Yes, but only a short time before his death. All the mentioned characters in the video knew Palpatine's Sith identity for years.

That is true.

Palpatine was very careful in concealing the fact that he was Darth Sidious from the galaxy probably because he was well aware that it would unify them against him and his empire. After all there are certainly records of the Sith - and the terribly destructive wars, that can sometimes last for centuries, that they have wrought upon the galaxy - on many worlds across the galaxy. Not to mention the more long lived races likely remember them.

No. He just said he didn’t know the details of Sidious’ long term plan. But earlier in the Siege of Republic, he does talk about how the Republic will fall from within. Implying that he did at least know that Chancellor Palpatine was Sidious. He worked right under him & saw his face multiple times. There’s no way he didn’t know Sidious’ true identity.

Palpatine painted the Jedi to be Force users who abused their powers to gain power and manipulate the Republic. Their counterparts, the Sith, were a largely unknown group and the Jedi were the only Force users most people in the Republic and other systems knew about. Mistrust in the Jedi and their supernatural powers was already growing before the Clone Wars, so Palpatine only had to play on commonly held beliefs, hatreds and superstitions. But that also made it difficutlt for him to show his Force potential, which would be similar to Hitler privately conversing with Jews and secretly being a Jew himself. Weird comparison, but Palpatine's rise to power was largely influenced by Hitler's rise to power in the 30's. The thing many seem to forget that Palpatine needed allies to undermine and destroy the Republic from within. He would also need allies to prop up his rule once the common enemy (the CIS and Jedi) was defeated. And for all his truly evil character, Palpatine did respect strong individuals to whom he was rather open. Tarkin and Thrawn would be two of those. Perhaps they were unaware of all of his powers, but both were intelligent enough to understand that Palpatine was much more than a human.

I think most wouldn’t have cared or would have been too afraid of him to do anything about it. To them, there would have been a difference between being a Sith Lord and being a treasonous murdering warlord. Not that there actually is much difference but he made sure they thought differently.

nobody in that universe watches the star wars movies, so they wouldn't see his clues. lol. But even if they did most likely they still wouldnt figure it out, because in TCW we see some dudes call Maul and Savage a Jedi. So much of the galaxy probably doesn't know what a Sith is.

Sylas6540 I always saw the traditional sith eye color as having yellowish pupils, black irises, and red discoloration, like they blew a blood vessel or were very bloodshot😂 I’ve just found Sidious to be an outlier to this trend and wanted to know if there was any superficial reason.
