Who is VAN GOGH'S mysterious postman?

The story of Vincent and the postman is a hidden gem. A lesser known tale that hasn’t been told very often. And when I discovered it, I immediately fell in love with it. Because suddenly, it made so much sense why Vincent painted this man so often (6 times), and why he painted him with so much flourish.

@@TheGazeConstructive criticism, no disrespect; lose the background noise. The subject & your narration of it is great! The addition of distracting, monotonous & annoying music ruined the vid for me.

What a beautiful photograph of M. Roulin. I was aware of the portraits but not of that photograph. We all need a kind soul sometimes.

Wonderful video! The "Postman" here in Philly's Barnes museum is a personal favorite, I've had a print on my wall for the past 15 years. A much more meaningful painting after understanding their relationship.

I already loved your Instagram Reels. One of the very few accounts I watch. So glad I now know your KZread Channel. Normally I keep watching everything on 1.75 speed because I cant listening to people seeking slow. But your masterpiece of Story telling I watched at the original, therfore right speed and enjoyed every second. So glad I know the story of the postman now.

I live near the village where he was born, and I know the ancestors of the figures in the 'Potato Eaters' And they don't look too far removed. However, with art we get insights into ourselves, there is something very Human in the works of Van Gogh. I wish he'd didn't kill himself, if only he waited 9 years, or so. He would of received the love/recognition he required.
