I heard that the story is based on a lady who was in a toxic relationship with a prince of Majapahit, an ancient kingdom of Indonesia. The prince was using the lady for his own benefit and very abusive to her. The lady then started to learn black magic and avenged herself through santet, a magic used to send curses (like voodoo), and killed the prince and his followers without touching them. The Javanese lyrics means "No one can escape their mistakes. Own's worth is valued by their lathi (words, literary: tongue). You can see the dude in the video mouthed the word "I love you" but I suppose he was just lying, thus the Javanese lyrics.

(One's dignity is in his tongue [words])" It turned out the video seemed to be insipired by a true story of Dewi Lathi: a princess dated in Majapahit Kingdom era (waaay before Indonesia has existed). Dewi Lathi is the most beautiful princess in her era and had a relationship with a prince. Unfortunately, the prince was such a douche and kept her only for his interest. The relationship became toxic. Then, Dewi Lathi learned black magic and took revenge on the prince and all of his followers. Killing them without touching. In java meaning is That is, one's self-esteem from his tongue (his speech), and body's self-esteem from clothing." Second, Lathi is part of the stories about history of Majaphit Kingdoms. (like in video) Cause of that, now we call Lathi. hai i wanna tell u the story about some histories behind the song. (all the story we call urban legend from majapahit kingdom) 1. "the name of Lathi" = "Lathi" is a name woman from majapahit kingdom . She was the most beautiful woman in that era. 2. And then, she have a relathionship with prince of majapahit. initially good but the longer of the relationship Lathi was restrained and felt that he was a toy for the prince. her life was tormented. 3.After that lathi want to feel freedom from the prince. then she made a pact with a witch. to be given the strength to break free from the shackles of the prince and to avenge the prince. 4. and u can look to the video. Lathi is a poor girl with love to the prince. oh ya in this video u can look.. there are some women dancing instead of three people wearing white clothes. it reperesent how how the kingdom of Majapahit was very large in its time cause it represent (Java Island , Kalimantan Island, Sumatera Island, Bali Island) 5. Majapahit kingdoms is a kingdom with doctrin hindhu religions (its same like India) So when u come.. to Indonesia after this shit corona. just not to come to Bali.. u can come to Java Island and Kalimantan etc

The puppet show is called wayang. Wayang characters are characters taken from Hindu epochs. Wayang usually tells the story of good vs evil. The good is on the right side of the puppet master, and the evil is on the left side. In this video clip, the good character is srikandi, she is a warrior princess, wife of Arjuna. In the clip, she's fighting one of the Butas (buta means giant). I think, it's very symbolic how the lead vocal (depicted as srikandi) fight the hurtful relationship (the lover is abusive maybe?).

This is not about demon bro lol In the lyrics, Lathi tells a love story filled with lies and ego. However, someone who is locked up in a toxic relationship grows into a strong and brave person. The reason is that Lathi's song implies a stance and courage in dealing with an unhealthy relationship.

There's javanese lyrics. Javanese is one of locals language in Indonesia. Here's the lyrics.. "Kowe ra iso mlayu Saka kesalahan Ajining diri ana ing lathi" Meaning : "You can't escape from mistake. Someone's dignity is on their tongue (their words)" Eating glasses and fire is one of Indonesian culture. It called Kuda Lumping, but don't worry, they won't hurt because the dancer are possessed by demon while they do that action. Without demon, they will die😅 we can say the demon help them. And in Indonesia, we can ask the demon to kill our enemy by our enemy's pic or doll. Haha it's black magic. The locals believe on mystic up to now. 😊
