Love the idea of an evil twisted Trollan who's the antithesis of kind-hearted Orko. I keep hoping Gorpo appears in the new shows. Man, one of the things I love about the Classics line is all the villains you guys produced.

Wow didn't know about the catching of the guy who stole tons of toys from Mattel!! Damn. Don't mess with Unnamed One!!

I loved the design of Gorpo and the concept of basically Trollas ''Skeletor'' to Orkos He-man.

Once again I'll say, what could have been becomes real. The fairly common notion of what Orko was going to be name doesn't get abandoned after all. It gets used. That is what I like about this character. Can't remember if I have this figure.

The Unamed One was also in the DC vs MOTU comic mini series. Love that helmeted head.

I dig him. I think he’s super fun.

Cool to find out the story behind the leak after all these years! Never cross Mattel Legal, haha.

I have to admit that at first I was REALLY mad about gorpo being the unnamed one, and I don't remember why. I think one of the horsemen flat out lied about it, and said the unnamed one wasn't gorpo. But now, I'm fine with it. He's a good villain, and I really love how his magic blast is a bunch of snakes! So again, one of your story elements has become MOTU lore. Well done!

I like the idea that one of the faces on the Snake Mountain playset is The Unnamed One.

It was a great figure, although i wish the blast effect was hollowed out. the thing is so heavy it bent the stand and it eventually broke at the peg. got the stand straightened out and have some sticky tac holding the figure on it, but cant use that heavy blast effect any longer

I think the goddess could have been the unnamed one , she would've fit right on in with the snake men , the armor, she's green and this mystical, mysterious character. Around 1:38 the female character sharella looks like she's wearing a blue mask or head piece like battlecat's , I like concept artwork of this prequel series that was to come if the brand would've continued, I'm always interested in what that might've looked like.

Fun video! Thank you! Gotta admit, when I heard the advance info that The Unnamed One was going to have two heads, I was thinking more along the line of some hulking, demonic, Two-Bad like character. Then I saw the figure, and the cognitive dissonance caused my brain to short-circuit for a while. But, I rather like him, now. Planning on using the helmeted noggin on a Spelean Warrior custom, at some point. Also: Glad to hear about that thief getting caught. Millions of dollars' worth of product?! Yikes!

Wow! So glad they busted that guy. I personally don't mind the spoiler and could easyly not look at it, but the fact that he was stealing is going way too far! I really hope he and who ever else was helping him got into major trouble and had to pay big time!

I think the Unnamed One would have looked better with a full length robe unlike the shorter one that resembled Orko's.

I have to admit, when I first heard of the name Gorpo, I thought he was one of the Marx Brothers. I like the idea of Gorpo being Trollan, it shows you that not all mega powerful beings are big or tall. Look at Yoda or Mr. Mxyzptlk or Bat Mite, they're quite powerful in their universes. It also shows you the power potential of Orko and Trollans in general. Finally it's cool that King Hiss answers to someone you least expected.

Or Freeza, Kid Buu. Honestly, the trope is common enough that I'm kind of amazed how many people acted like it was unthinkable for him to be smallish. Besides, if you want the hulking demon type boss, we already had Horde Prime to fill that role.

It also has to do with that this is he- man who is bulked up and strong.you needs someone who would make him look weak as this becomes a challenge for the hero to overcome.hence the guy billed as the evil behind the evil should've looked like he could kill our muscle bound hero.instead it just looked like He-man was fighting an evil smurf.as I said I mostly had fallen for the hype more then anything.

That's the problem with toy collecting discussion on the internet.this technology was supposed to bring all us together but instead it's torn us apart into little fan subgroups and cliques.

I hope they put this character in MOTU Origins because all Classics figures are going for around $100 and up online

Scott! Unrelated to this video (as I'm in Australia and it's hard to catch you) did you ever remember the Eternian language that you previously said you had forgotten? The letters on the orb holder were translated but what do they mean? Did they stand for something or was it another code to break. I'm desperate to know. I don't think I can post a link here but if you head to the Org and check out the thread you created (or Google Did anyone ever translate the Eternian language) have a look and tell me if it jogs your memory. PLEASE!!!!

Good question! I tried transcribing the alphabet from the Spell of Memorization and the King Randor coin, but there were no Cs, Js, or Xs, if I recall.

Interesting that Gorpo has a red skull on his chest, despite the lack of bat iconography accompanying it, it reminds me of Horde Prime. Which, hey, ain't they got some sort of relation in one series? Also what is the green Power Sword that figure at 7:54 is holding?

I believe that green Poser Sword with the kris blade is a custom. They might be available on Shapeways, if I remember correctly.

Also, you had to wait until the very end of this...

I loved this figure then, and I still love it now. It’s great, creepy, and photogenic. The Unnamed One was a fantastic figure!!!

Hi from Asheville! Pretty sure Scott lives in Greensboro.

I'd see this concept as something hopeless to appease the masses. Some of the mashups are vastly better than the actual one. Though I can't stand Orka or his kind in the least. That one Shadow Weaver Female is cool so I would imagine that would have went over well. Collectors don't like surprises they want to know what they are getting down to every single detail and extra. I know I would have flipped out if got The Unnamed One :). The Box says He-Ro Son of He-Man on it too? Sad that guy posted pics only to end up shafted as that was hefty stash. I think people mean well with their decisions even if they turn out badly. Small beings don't work at being menacing or powerful. I would have went from elation to devastation personally :).

@@joemartin5669 Yes Even Vegetta or Frieza or that dude from Super. I think its Napolean Complex right ;)? For all these people to fear him its just not likely. Hard enough to make the Major Boss. Which should be more popular or cooler than Skeletor or Hordak. Then to have him job out King Hiss too :). Orka is presented in comical bumbling manner too. Its like even Jar Jar Sith Lord is more imposing ;). I"m a big fan of Vegetta I have his Super Dragon Ball Battle Z thign :).

@@joemartin5669 I was only using Shadow Weaver as example because it was Subscriber Figure too. That was cooler vastly more popular. I thought its how it worked with Matty Collector but I was not a member. Yeah I can see how being in the robe would think that. She is too tall I would have liked to have one heh. That would have stayed elations when I opened the thing hehe. They both magic users but I could fear her over him :). You could imagien it wsa real like a good Wrestlign match :).

I actually think that was a clever final villain. Much more fun when its unexpected.

While he looks cool I was always a little disappointed that he was the unnamed one. Disappointing hearing mattel never came up with a design back in the day after the mini-comic mention.

I like the idea of pushing the brand forward, it's just too bad Mattel never really capitalized on this by incorporating some of the "new" characters and/or ideas into anything. 200X & the MOTUC line helped revolutionize the brand, but most of these innovations were never really carried over into any new projects. It would've been interesting if the Unnamed One was finally revealed on screen in one of the newer MOTU projects that came out, not that long ago. Skeletor, Hordak, and/or King Hisss being "the big evil boss" is kinda cliché' at this point. At the very least they should all team-up to stop the Unnamed One, proving how powerful he supposedly is. I figure the Trollans are extremely powerful, but that's never really properly put on display. MOTU chief Trollan character (Orko) is used as little more than comedy relief (even w/ the reason they use for Orko's powers being so "wonky"). I think Gorpo should have both a Trollan & a "human" form (that large & muscular like pretty much all the other MOTU males)--somewhat like Count Marzo.

Now I'm going to give you my opinion so be a big boy ,Scott and remember this is just how I felt .I thought he was a disappointment because I fell for the hype about him.(two heads!the evil behind the evil!the one king Hsss bows down to!)it sounded like a real impressive demonic snake monster man.I was expecting Darth Vader and we got..papa smurf?!I see what you were going for in the reveal but as you had said before it's better if the bad guy is more imposing that way it inspires whoever is the good guy to face the challenge and creates a good story.that is why I never liked the figure and was let down.I did however customize the face and give him some small legs to make a character I call the Spellbinder,an evil elf wizard who comes from another dimension to terrorize Eternia and the heroic warriors so I was able to put him to good use in the end.still a six inch two headed snake like monster man with the Lord dactus body repainted or something more imposing would've in my opinion been a bit better.that is all I have to say on this one.:)

This was the absolute most ridiculous and worst figure in all the line. A waste of resources and so overpriced. It was also forced on us subscribers. The backstory on this is and was so childish but considering the source it didn’t surprise me. Many of the customs were so much better than the idiotic thing we got. The second head was put there to try and save the 4 horsemens reputation. So glad scott will never ever touch motu again ever.

The figure was ok, but again the bio/lore was terrible, way to disappoint the fans.
