    Yepp. The decision to end that show seems rather irrational considering that all ST series before needed 3 full seasons to find their footing. First two seasons of Next Generation are just awkward, the writing isn't that good, the characters aren't fleshed out yet, the effects look bad... and it got better during the 3rd season but only in season 4 it got to the quality we think back to, when we think of that show. Same with DS9 and Voyager. First two seasons DS9 were quite boring. The 3rd season picked up the pace a little, but again - in season 4 it finally found its voice. Voyager had a slightly better start, if you ask me, the first three seasons weren't written all too well, but at least they were interesting with a lot of new races, places and lore introduced. Then it got quite good during seasons 4 and 5, then dropped again during seasons 6 and 7. Considering this Enterprise actually had a better start than any of those, because season 3 of Enterprise was what season 4 was for the other shows. If Enterprise had continued it might have been the best of all the ST shows.

    Well, I actually liked the first two seasons the best. Not that the last two were bad. or anything. I just believe that the story arc of the first two seasons should have remained the premise of the overall show. The first two seasons were about exploration. Seasons 3 and 4 should have been seasons 7 and 8. The seasons in between should have also been about deep space exploration and technology development.

    @Curzon Dax : I disagree. I thought Archer was a good halfway house between Lovell of NASA’s Apollo 13 (civilian explorer), and Kirk of TOS (military officer). Enterprise began with a very NASA-like vibe in Season 1, and ended with a very TOS-like feel by Season 4 (Archer being very disillusioned, and even traumatised, at being forced to change from explorer to soldier.)

    @@charliegruchy530 The only thing bad about it in my opinion was the fact that the show should have mainly been about exploring than war. By this show being based on the Pre-Warp Era, you'd want to see more deep space exploration of unknown space phenomena, planets, alien civilizations and technology. Instead, the show turned into 24th century Star Trek rather quickly. Star Trek Enterprise didn't stray far and was rather close in style to Voyager, DS9 and TNG.

    If Future guy IS Archer, then one has to ask a second, profoundly interesting question: Did he succeed? We don't know if he ever actually intended for the Sulibans to succeed in their missions? Perhaps he was purposfully setting them up to fail in order for his past self to suceed in his missions? Let's assume "alternate Archer" knows about Daniels. Perhaps he even had similar missions with Daniels aswell. He might even had gotten enough knowledge about Daniels temporal agency as to manipulate events so that he knew Daniels would recruit his past self and thus having the events unfold as we see in the show. Hell, it might even have ended up being a time loop. Archer realises that he has to become Future guy in order to insure that his past self shows up to stop the Sulibans, leeding to the end of the temporal cold war AND eventually the founding of the federation.

    So while Star Trek online isn't hard Canon it is licensed and CBS has gone through some length to ensure, especially with new discovery content that there is acceptable degrees of consistency with the current and past story arcs, with the new expansion going so far as to be a side story of the ongoing series. That being said, STO is somewhere above the extended universe and somewhere below the serieses in terms of story expansion and canonicity. While the books and literature scatter amidst various authors and versions of events, STO unifies a lot of the serieses loose ends into something meaningful in very surprising and satisfying ways. Future man per this storyline is actually A Krenim (Year of hell). As the captain in online during the war with the Iconians, the alliance (federation, Klingons, New Romulan republic) realize the only way they will defeat the Iconians is using temporal technology, as the Iconians by nature are weak to chroniton fields and temporal energy and by this nature incapable of time travel. Having previously ventured into the Delta quadrant to make new alliances and fight the Vaaduar, the alliance turns to the Krenim who for some time had been experimenting with time travel. During a test you unwittingly banish an entire species from The timeline. While everyone is knows unaware of this, the lead Krenim researcher somehow figures out through temporally shielded data that his wife is gone. His wife is a member of the banished species who become the sphere builders. Now banished to another realm they sell vengeance across time with the federation, as does the Krenim scientist. Basically you as the player started the whole damn thing. I recommend a playthrough of the Delta, Iconians, and New Frontier storylines.

    #1 STO is not Canon and #2 since STO is not real(canon) his identity is not what you stated. Meaning Iconians were destroyed after a orbital bombardment of their planet 200,000 years ago(im presuming that's from the last star trek movie with Nero and the Remans.) So who is he? it does not matter.....hes from the future and his identity is never revealed, meaning he would have ceased to exist making the whole thing pointless, as far as history is concerned.

    Considering Archer was a host of a Vulcan Katra - was shown on screen to able to "easily" beat up Vulcanoids - I tend to think that he is on a path (fulfilled or not) to be a rather singular being potentially. A little bit Klingon and a little Bit Human Augment, very long lived for his time, and with that mental influence of Vulcan's greatest Son on him. It does suggest he was potentially some sort of Mackenvie Calhoun level super hero. If that went a bit pair shaped and add in some Suliban and Romulan influence you'd have something not that far away from the Beta-Canon future guy. But if you want to have some fun you can say that the bad Future Archer wanted to correct is much the same one Burnham's Momma was so paranoid about.

    @430Recmove Off the top of my head is that future guy was suppose to be from the 28th century and they implied in the Shockwave 2 parter that taking Archer into the future wrecks the timeline... through I grant you that became less firm as the show went on as Archer was able to visit the ENT-J just fine. Generally ENT...like the other Trek shows of that era didn't really plan out multi-season plot threads. For example Julian Bashir from DS9 wasn't originally planed to genetically altered...it was actually a last minute change to "Doctor Bashir, I Presume" It was just different time were they air part one of a cliff hanger, but with little idea how the story will be concluded.

    I don't know if I'm right but the "Envoy" in Star Trek Online turns out to be Noye (from a time traveling Delta quadrant species) who was also time traveling and helping the enemys of the federation and he does this because he doesn't want the temporal accords to be signed (since his species loves to time travel) so I guess he wanted to deal whit the federation even before it was founded. Note: this is just a theory since idk if the Envoy is the same as Future Guy

  • @cappypolaron7127

    @cappypolaron7127

    Also, the Federation caused Noye's wife and unborn child to cease to exist when they used time travel in a failed mission in an earlier STO story - a temporally shielded memory core contained her logs, informing Noye about her prior existence in the new timeline. By erasing the Federation, he was hoping to get his family back - similar to the motivations of another Krenim, Annorax, in Voyager's 'Year of Hell' episodes.
