@@mrcritical6751 that depends on what you mean by costume. In The New Batman Adventures he was scary as all hell, but he didn't look like a scarecrow in the slightest. I like the mask from the nolan films and I do believe that paired with a snare around his neck and a straightjacket or something would be a perfect balance between actually looking somewhat like a scarecrow and still being scary and able to be taken seriously

I liked how they designed the Scarecrow mask in TDK trilogy but it was the only thing about him that was remotely Scarecrow, for most of the franchise he’s just walking around him a suit and tie and he doesn’t even wear the mask in TDKR it’s just laying next to him whilst he acts as a judge for some reason

@@mrcritical6751 This is why I hate the realistic interpretation of the Batman. He is a bloody superhero. Embrace it! Say what you will about Gotham, but it at least embraced the colourful nature of the series, with nearly every super villain wearing their classic costumes. Visually, Crane looked great, but they wasted his character (along with every other villain who isn't Riddler or Penguin).

Scarecrow is my favorite villain, in fact I love Scarecrows in general. I think the Arkham designs the best, with the Arkham Asylum slightly edging out because of those Freddy Krueger-inspired needle-fingers, plus he seemed to steal the show in Asylum, his moments in the game being legit scary and unsettling. The voice-modulation on both is also one of my favorite features, very creepy. Also, speaking of Krueger, major props to Injustice 2 for getting Robert Englund to voice Scarecrow. He and the TMNT were my mains in that game (though shame on the game for not giving us the needle-fingers).

I don't like that he has his mouth covered in the most recently released pictures, considering that speaking is really important to the Riddler, especially speaking publicly and theatrically

@@voltagethename9959 - lol, took me a couple seconds before it hit. But seriously, the 2013 Batmobile game was pretty damn badass. Mr Freeze in particular was very well done IMHO, and so was the Joker. Bane was a tad too theatrical/dramatic for my taste, he sounded like the Clayface from the *Harley Quinn* cartoon, doing an over the top Bane impression... Sadly, Scarecrow didn't have as much dialogue/screentime as those 3, since he was basically just a side mission, where you had to destroy 3 fear toxins balloons of his. Crane has like; 3 lines max, and you don't even see him on-screen, aside from his head on a corner of the screen... (The other mini-bosses were Penguin and Catwoman)

I actually think it was cool to make Scarecrow more relaxed in Arkham Knight. It made sense given that he loved fear thanks to the power it gave him, and at that point he already used it to gain power over Gotham. It also makes him seem more menacing to me that he was just nonchalant about people being hunted and maimed all over the city thanks to his threat.

Arkham knight. “It’s ok to be afraid.” Was awesome

I think we can all agree that Scarecrow’s costume design from GOTHAM is the best and most-accurate look he’ll probably ever get in live action (he’s got the classic witch hat/scythe, but also the gas mask and glove from the Arkham games)

@@mr._.argonot933 that’s what I like about him he’s annoying and arrogant but alway puts up a good intellectual throw down with bat and his depiction in Arkham knight is a key component into why I like him, his grimey look and his makeshift traps and gadgets makes it feel. Even with limited resources even can make something mind blowing in that reality, his newer depiction in the new Batman movie also is a good reason why I like him as the enigma himself is depicted in a zodiac killer esc fashion.

@@sparrowblack841 I freaking love Scarecrow design in Last Knight on Earth where he is clinging to Bane. But he is just henchman in it nothing more.

Him being relaxed feels more threatening, which is why nobel’s my favorite, he sounds scary, and dangerous, and it accompanies the appearance perfectly.

Poor *Charlie Tahan* , he breaks his butt playing Scarecrow in *Gotham* for seasons 1, 3, and half of season 4 before he has to leave to play in *Ozark* , and his name isn't even mentioned in passing :( What sucks balls is that his replacement for seasons the second half of season 4 & season 5, David W Thompson, looks _EXACTLY_ like young Jonathan Crane from *The New 52* 's flashbacks in his origin story... Seriously, it's uncanny. But poor David had to keep his mask on all the time, so the audience doesn't notice that this isn't Charlie Tahan anymore. Oh well, missed opportunity... ... but at least we will get a brand new Scarecrow in *Titans* season 3, played by Vincent Kartheiser (you know, Connor from *Angel* ?). Can't wait for this season to be there already, between Red Hood, Lady Vic, Tim Drake and Barbara Gordon this is going to be fucking awesome \o/

Charlie Tahan was only in two episodes of season 1 and returned briefly for the first two episodes of season 4 and that was it. You make it sound like he recurred for years. Scarecrow wasn’t even in season 3 so I don’t know what you’re talking about. And I’m pretty sure these guys might’ve not even realized he was recast due to the second actor’s face never being shown.

@@dodobirdfisher4697 - Well, yeah, which is the reason why I made this post ^^' I found it odd that they would only mention David W Thompson, who isn't as well known as David Tahan, when discussing the *Gotham* Scarecrow. This recasting is far less confusing than the *Bridgit Pike/Firefly* one though, in which the original actress, Michelle Veintimilla, played the character in season 2 and in the second half of season 4, while Camila Perez played her in season 3, and the first half of season 4...

@@randallflagg3700 Yeah, the Brigit recasting was one of the two most immersion breaking things of the show. The other was when the fight between the G.C.P.D and the military in the penultimate episode was at daytime even though it was at night in the teaser at the beginning of the premiere episode. Luckily, I felt the continuity of the show was always really solid other than those two cases.

John Noble is my #1, his voice is so chilling and calm which makes him seem like much more of a threat. Like he always has everything under control and is constantly 2 steps ahead. Wasn't too much of a fan of him being more comical and loud. John is definitely the most scary and threatening scarecrow imo

Arkham knight was my favorite game because I felt people like enigma had character yes the missions were bat mobile heavy but still I felt character shad a character. Main reason I focus on enigma is because I loved the grimy and makeshift atmosphere that was displayed in that games (also the stuttering in his projectors were perfect for his character)

The Jeffrey Combs voiced redesigned Scarecrow was creepy.

0:01 I got to say the scarecrow from Batman: Arkham Knight, is definitely the most menacing looking. It looks like the flesh is melting off of his face and he looks more like a zombie. All the previous renditions of scarecrow just look like a man with a burlap sack. I know his fear chemical makes him look more scary tho. i’m glad the Arkham series spiced him up a little bit more to make him look more dreadful and terrifying 😱😱😱😱

I think injustice and arkham knight had my two favorite performances. Neither were really utilized to their fullest but what they brought to the roll was phenomenal

When it comes to BatmanTAS, personally, I don't think Scarecrow 3.0 was accurate. He looks like a dead body walking around. He doesn't look like a scarecrow at all. He also carries a stick. A STICK!!! Why replace his scythe with a stick? Don't get me wrong, I still liked him, but his appearance just isn't accurate at all for me. I much prefer his previous incarnation.

John Noble was masterful

Personally, i like the design of Arkham knight scarecrow with injustice 2 scarecrows voice and hook.

By far my favorite portrayal of scarecrow is injustice 2. His hallucination/scare beast form is superbadass but the mind games he’s able to play dissecting all these players is just fantastic! The only issue is how horribly underused he is on the story Gothams scarecrow shines really well. From using a scythe, to his crooked philosophy and vocal mannerisms, to that badass suit and hell I even got use to his fear puns!

Not in a video game/movie/tv show but the one in the comic Batman/Judge Dread one shot was my favorite. The reinvention and the look was so inspired, esp. drawn by the great Simon Bisley. Was creating his fear drug by taking out an enzyme from corpses.

If Jack E. Haley was cast as Scarecrow, he would be the best actor for that role. I will die on that hill. Other casting choices for me are Caleb Landry Jones, James MacAvoy, Bill Nighy, and Richard Brake. I know that Brake was already Joe Chill, but if you've seen him in 31, then you know, in spite of the fact he's playing a spooky evil clown (sounds familiar) he is perfect.

I’ve always been a huge fan of the Scarecrow’s third design from the DC Animated Universe. Between that corpselike mask, stick-thin limbs, the noose and ESPECIALLY Jeffrey Combs’ soft, unsettling voice, he’s more terrifying than any other depiction of the character.

I love the concept of the Scarecrow. I was really disappointed by how his character was utilized in Batman Begins. He was overshadowed by Ras al Ghul (forgive my spelling). In the scene where he talks about working for someone, I had assumed at first that he was pretending to represent the Scarecrow. It sucks he was shoved to the back seat and taken down by Batman so easily.

I fully agree. He should of been the main villain. That movie was about fear and dealing/fighting them. It always urked me with how he gets shoved to the sidelines. They should of done the ras stuff in dark knight rises with ras and bane working together instead of talia.

It's weird that such a good Scarecrow would be in a Scooby-Doo movie. I liked the whole Hannibal Lecter set up, but it was a bad move not to make him the main villian.

Asylum is my favorite also. I like how they improved city etc but the setting and story just stuck with me more. Plus scarecrow made me return 2 almost 3 discs thinking my system was fucking up. Yes I fell for it and have no shame admitting it. Lol

It was pretty sick looked great

My number 1 is Corey Burton in Gotham Knight. His voice is so creepy, his look is terrifying and the story he's in is perfect for the idea of fear. Having him as a cult leader that is fucking with Batman while the Bat is dying of poison, from a fear toxin infected bite from Killer Croc is unnerving and is presented like a living nightmare.

Fun fact Jeffery combs was also the voice of Ratchet on Transformers prime

I think my number one is a tie between the Arkham Asylum Scarecrow and the original appearance within TAS. I honestly and genuinely can't think of the character without either of those two immediately coming to mind, it also helps that they got the original Scarecrow for DC Universe Online and I played the FUCK out of that game for YEARS.

I prefer Scarecrow from Injustice 2. Even though it's a relatively small part, Robert Englund knocked it out of the fuckin' park... He is a PERFECT fit, and I would love to see him play a live action Scarecrow! After him, I like Noble from Arkham Knight. I mean... he actually beat "The Bat" when it comes right down to it... forced him to enact "Knightfall Protocol", unmasked him, caused Wayne Manor to explode... Even in losing, Scarecrow still won in AK.

Arkham Knight’s version is definitely the best. He’s terrifying, powerful, and menacing. In Arkham Asylum he was a goofball lowkey. AK cements him as a serious threat.

I think it would be great to see the VideoGame version of the (ScareCrow) villain; From the (BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT) VideoGame, in a live-action BATMAN movie someday. The reason why is because I label him as the third best version of (SCARECROW) the villain.
