    You know what I really like about Kiko? we know there is a lot of cool metal artist out there that we admired,. but like what he does ( vlogs , sharing backstage footage , tour life ) it feels like I have known him for so long personally ,everytime I watched his videos, it's so "Genuine" you really know what kind of a heart he has. maybe talking to him all day long with a barrel of beer will not be enough.. such a cool and humble guy. Iv've been following him since Angra days and this dude still amazes me, not just a underrated Guitar soloist but as a person as well. we love you Kiko!

    I’ve been playing classical and metal for decades and totally understand the compromise with my nails! And yes, the halfie nails are what get us through sometimes. Tommy Emmanuel’s solution is to cut all his nails short and use his fingertips on his right hand, didn’t work for me cuz I’m not superhuman like him. Hey Kiko! As a classical guitar player, also playing flamenco and electric, dealing with nails was my permanent problem. Recently after finding out that Tarrega changed to playing with no nails at some point and then was ADAMANT that short or no nails sound BETTER....I took my chances and got them as s short as I dared :) Reality is, my classical guitar playing needed a bit of adjustment but nothing that was unmanageable. Give it a try :)

Rick Beato did a video on Guthrie and raved over his improvisation skill. Don't get me wrong, Guthrie is a legend but he hasn't seen Kiko improvise. Kiko's sense of harmony and melody is out of this world.

  • @colmiaz

    @colmiaz

    Жыл бұрын

    @@rahuldev3620 Dont get me wrong, I follow Kiko's work for a long time now (basically since Holy Land) and he is indeed great in improvisation, but I think the infusion of styles Guthrie can perform in an improvisation is second to none. Not that Kiko cant play many other styles, but he wont usually sound like a player of that specific style like Guthrie does. At least that is my humble opinion. Either way, they're both great musicians in their own right. As for why I would love to see Kiko in a Beato's video, is because his influence is indeed rich of complex harmony concepts as you've said, mostly because (I believe) of brazilian music background such as MPB (popular brazilian music), Bossa Nova, Northern styles derived from african and arabic music and other regional sounds that are also unique. On top of that, Kiko seems like a work horse and a perfectionist, so he also is very knowledgeable in Music Business and Marketing.
