Who is the 3rd Double Dragon? Sonny Lee History Explained - Gaming Lore Double Dragon Documentary
Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone was released in Arcades in 1990. The American version of the game featured Player 3 as a Yellow version of the Lee Brothers. But this character had no backstory. He later returned in Double Dragon IV in 2017 only named as "Sonny".
Then in 2022, he showed in in River City Girls 2 with his full name being Sonny Lee. Revealing his is the 3rd Double Dragon Brother.

He is now in Double Dragon Gaiden, as well. Now retconned to be a "distant cousin".

Id never seen the original DD3 arcade game in action before. Never even knew there was one. Id only ever seen and played the NES rendition. Its pretty wild how different they are Great vid. I never even knew about Sonny til i started playing DD Gaiden after the recent update.

My only guess Sonny is the youngest like 3rd. While Billy is the oldest or Jimmy?
They could just kept it only 2 players instead of 3 for the hard mess of this 3rd character, but it's been so long, doesn't matter, but the lore. Can't hardly believe RCG is canon to the lore since is another studio, but like any other games, nothing beats the OG Classic Games!

If they had just renamed DD3 to "Triple Dragon", it might have been better received. It still sucks, but it's anything but a real Double Dragon.

Nothing going to an arcade back in the early 90s early 2000's to be young to be completely full of Life energy imma go get everything even the country appeared human back then the us Wasn't the joke it is now but anyway was good times man
back in the early 90's, my uncle had the Sega Master System with a couple of games one being Double Dragon. I played and finished the game dozens of times with both my uncle and my grandma which was the better player of us 3. She had the theory that the second boss was some sort of evil brother or clone who was there just to fuck you up.
He wasn’t in the 90’s cartoon of Double Dragon! So therefore he is irrelevant
I feel like in my canon Sonny Lee is Billy and Jimmy's half brother.
