It is unfair, but honestly, if you were brought up in a toxic family, you likely have trauma which leads to unhealthy behavioral patterns and coping skills when times do get rough. I agree that cutting off those people is best and it is unfortunate, but there is usually lasting damage and unless you are in therapy, you may carry some of that baggage unwilling or unknowingly into your relationships.

I get it both ways. I don't have a good relationship with my parents, so I know exactly what that can do to you. The amount of self-work and self-awareness I need to have to be anywhere close to a well-functioning partner is ridiculous. Overwhelming a lot of the time. I'm working on it, so I don't want people to judge me based on that, but I would judge others based on it in certain scenarios. It messes you up. Those early years really do matter. You can work through it, but it is a process, a long process for me.

Though the relationship readiness score you guys made is pretty good for seeing if you are ready for a relationship. I do not think that this is the best way to find out wether someone is a f-boi or not. Apart from the ones that are just not ready to be in a relationship it is also somewhat easy to influence by going off on what you think is ideal. Better questions would be somewhat along the lines of, ''Are you willing to give up your hobby's for a person you want to see romanticly?'' ''Do you go for the person that all your friends think is hot or do you go for that person because of your own ideals?'' And ''Are you willing to set aside your own opinions about a subject without really being conviced for just that evening?'' Questions more along the likes of are you willing to give up your own personality to get a chance with someone, for a night or even a few months. Really that is what i notice more in f-bois then wether or not they are ready to go into a realitionship. They tend to give up their own personality for a girl.

The bad chemistry thing was basically about .. bad communication 😅
