I’d say you hit the nail on the head when you said that you don’t know this much about a person without spending a significant amount of time with them. More likely than not there were some embellishments/dramatizations made in the show (like the prison sentencing) to give the story a proper ending but I’d say just by watching this interview alone that they’ve managed to portray this woman flawlessly.

Richard Gadd has admitted that the court sentencing scene was a dramatic contrivance, in reality she was never held to account by the law. I agree with you, I don't think the show needed that scene, it could have bee ended another way. I suspect the truth is she carried on stalking him to a lesser intensity right up until the show went out and gained traction. Most stalking cases continue on indefinitely. Nobody expected this show to go as big as it has done though.

Netflix don't give a screenplay by a jobbing comedian the money & marketing they did here. They will have researched it, spoken to third parties etc, most likely including the previous victim. They knew they had a great story & casted it perfectly. I agree that they probably didn't think it would be a No.1 show in multiple countries. But if most of the central themes were not true they would be facing a multi-million pound lawsuit & Richard Gadd would be ruined. TG is right, her body language and facial tics show she is lying. The one mistake they made is not thinking that with the power of Google all people had to do was type 'Scottish Lawyer female stalker'. I identified her in under 5 minutes!!. That's where they f*cked.up, they even said she wouldn't recognise it was about her???. How many people called Richard Gadd has she stalked? 😂 Changing your character's name to Donny doesn't hide it that well. But like TG I believe him because he included highly personal stuff e.g his relationship with a transsexual woman and his rape by his mentor. I think she did contact his parents and she definitely sent the 41000 e-mails. He will have all the data. She's ill and potentially dangerous. Good show though!! 😀

@@angeleyes3396 The statement about things being dramatized is in the end credits. Anything in the opening credits is atmospheric. Like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Fargo, Paranormal Activity, Blair Witch--they all claimed in the opening credits to be true. None are. It was all for atmosphere. Fargo was very loosely based on true events, but they say in the opening credits that the story is presented exactly as it happened. It isn't. If you see a statement in the opening credits that something is true, never believe it. It's for effect most of the time. Anything official that covers legality is in the closing credits. There is such a statement in the closing credits of Baby Reindeer. It's commonly done in film and television.

Obviously, Netflix's legal depth would never allow this to be broadcasted if they didn't have their backs covered & I'm very surprised that none of the KZread commentators are mentioning the disclaimer in the end credits. I guess everyone is sensationalising the whole saga even further for their own monetary gains & views 🤷🏽‍♀️

My biggest takeaway from the interview with Morgan - when asked about the voicemails she said "unless he was following me around the Holy Arms taping me". Who in their right mind would think of that as a possibility for the existence of 106 voicemails? But of course in the show she apparently was taping conversations she had with Gadd. So of course this a reasonable explanation for how they have her speaking in voicemails - because its something she has experience with. It doesn't seem unreasonable to follow somebody around with a hidden tape recorder because she (allegedly) has done it herself

That really pisses me off tbh what is real and what has been "dramatised"? He lied about her being jailed so it does make me wonder what else. Not saying he wasn't stalked, harrassed or abused but given the things that he says happened, its not little inimportant things he is talking about and he made it really easy to find her, sure she did come out by herself but people were already easily finding her but nobody knows who the real Darrien is, a man who repeatedly abused him and r@ped him and Richard Osman said everybody in that business knows who he is! The way he was portrayed if accurate its clearly not a one off, its likely he done it a lot before and since Gadds expriences. Speaking as somebody who has experienced SA I don't understand why he wouldn't name him or be taking legal action and to have a whole industry know about it but nothing is done, it's like another Saville coverup!
