I would suggest you to listen to Miyeon's solo album "My". All the tracks are vocal heavy and it was one of the best solo albums of 2022.

I agree with the ranking mostly. Minnie's vocals are honestly so beautiful, and that's why her parts stick out most to me. I think I'd put Soyeon above Shuhua, though. I see Soyeon as more of a rapper, but she can have very strong vocals as well.

Its not even that. In (G)I-DLE she is the least popular member and is the most hated by antis. @@bossygarden5304 that’s not true about gidle actually. Minnie has the same issues as Swan from purple kiss. Both sing in a very stylistic manner and don’t focus on techniques, rather they focus more on sounding good with their stylistic choices which leads to poor breath control, limited lower ranges, and very very shallow to invisible vibrato. Yuqi has a more developed lower range than Minnie, better vibrato, they both have mid breath control but Yuqi has a deeper range so it makes sense she’d be out of breath faster. Both strain about the same amount. Overall from my couple of years singing opera Yuqi seems more vocally trained.

Miyeon def deserves her place but soyeon’s just underrated

MY RANKING: 1. Miyeon (main vocalist so yes) 2. Yuqi (her voice tone is good and I think her vocals are overall nice!) 3. Minnie (very nice but she can improve! Also I believe she is improving always!) 4. Shuhua, Soyeon ( Shushu Improved A LOT if we compare to debut and those starting eras. Now she's more comfortable with singing and has learned things. Soyeon is also good and it's understandable that her strongest point isn't vocals when it's rap. Love her voice tho!)

Why am I only just now finding out that Miyeon official rank is main vocalist and not lead vocalist? Like I love her voice and her vocals are great but somebody told me that she was lead and only Minnie was the Main vocalist and I never double checked until now.

i feel like it is very hard to say who the best vocalist is. Shuhua is the weakest, but she improved a lot, thats clear. Soyeon actually sings really well, i just feel like ppl naturally assume she can’t sing because she is a very good rapper. Yuqi is really underrated and she always ranks lower than Minnie and Miyeon just because she can’t hit high notes that extremely well. But have you ever listened to Bonnie and Clyde? Those low notes are crazyyy

People really underestimate Miyeon, I got into (G)I-DLE because I loved her as ahri’s voice in KDA, she really shined in that group with her vocals

In their website they explained their roles and in vocals it was 1. Minnie & Miyeon (minnie was their first main vocalist before miyeon) 2. Yuqi (she is a sub vocalist but then soon also go the role of sub rapper) 3. Soyeon (main rapper, leader and sub vocalist) 4. Shuhua (she was said to be a sub vocalist aswell) then again this may not be true

So many people are arguing in the comments about who’s better… Ofc in terms of actual vocal technique, it would go: - Miyeon - Yuqi - Minnie - Soyeon - Shuhua But that doesn’t give y’all the excuse to bash other peoples’ opinions. It’s a fact that Miyeon and Yuqi are above Minnie when it comes to technique, but if it’s someone’s OPINION that Minnie sounds better to them-then respect it. I would put Minnie over Yuqi by far. Minnie has a lot of range and can sing high and deep notes very clearly. Yuqi is a stable singer, but doesn't have much range and fine tuning.

However she has no sense of support and strains the hell out of every note which can damage her vocal and make her regress. So far only 2 members can support in gidle and one of the two is yuqi. Thats why shes above minnie. Listen... Im not saying that minnie is a bad singer. Shes simply not an amazing vocalist and thats okay. As long as she sings in her range and doesnt strain often with notes she clearly cant reach she can improve and finally learn to support but I doubt she will be better than yuqi

Guys these polls aren't ordered. You can only pick 1 option so most people will obviously pick miyeon, who is the main vocalist, then theres a smaller group who would pick yuqi or minnie because they like their vocal tones better. Not a vocal trainer of the sort, just a personal opinion. 1. Miyeon: solid, agile, supported vocals. Established and stable singing style, sophisticated tone. 2. Minnie: versatile, supported most of the time, but airy and nasally and can be inconsistent in style. 3. Soyeon: controlled and agile. Unique tone and consistent style but adaptability on the lower side. I think she fixed that too. Idk. 4. Yuqi: solid voice, charming tone, but low agility. Like, preeety low. Style is not develop enough so her voice lost a little bit of its briliant charm in a certain genre. 5. Shuhua Thats all

Miyeon, Minnie and Yuqi had the strongest vocals in gidle. Shuhua are improve really much! Soyeon voice is different. Its catchy singing raps, but vocally? Thats a No from me 😓 vocally her voice sounds more exaggerated over the years. When they sing Hann Soyeon Rap and Latata (Live Melon Music Awards 2018) her voice was sounded nice (vocally) more melodic and it blended well with the other voices without sounding so different from the others, now her voice stands out in all the songs

Most objective opinion, Soyeon isn't last, Shuhua improved but Soyeon is above, Miyeon the best technically , Yuqi and Miyeon only two members with vocal support, Minnie most loved vocal color but rather stylistic singer, unfortunately in live performance used to struggle for lion and law notes for queencard and allergy, she tries to talk instead of sing that part because it's not her range, so kinda Miyeon is the only true main vocal in group Minnie would be better as center because people prefer her often over Miyeon (vocal color preference and charisma wise), she would still get lot of lines, Miyeon high notes and Yuqi lower notes, Soyeon isn't vocalist but her and Yuqi surprisingly are two members that are always stable at encores and university /concert performances since debut

These ranking doesn't do justice. If u listen to Mr removed, u will hear mostly soyeon voice. Then suddenly ppl say gidle can sing live when 100% soyeon and miyeon who sing live

Objectively, the ranking should be like this: 5. Shuhua 4. Soyeon 3. Minnie 2. Yuqi 1. Miyeon This is by vocal range and technique, Miyeon and Yuqi are the only ones who have somewhat consistent support in the group

My opinion: 1. Miyeon 2. Yuqi 3. Minnie 4. Soyeon 5. Shuhua

But I love Minnie's soulful voice tho.

cube sometimes forget that miyeon is the main vocalist she rarely got high note and got the less line's but still the best vocalist in g idle

pls a good vocalist doesn't have to be someone that can hit high notes have any of you hear how yuqi slays in her deep voice?
