This was my first Suikoden. I understand why people don't like it, but it's so dear to me and it made me play other Suikoden, so I wouldn't say it's the best, of course not, but it's my favourite ❤️

i honestly feel the same way. yeah, when compared to the other games in the series, 4 is bad, if not outright terrible. its fair to consider the game as possibly the one that killed the series, but even with all that going for it, i love suikoden 4 to death. i like the idea of a moving HQ and exploring the sea like what happen in wind waker. i like the idea of having a game where you travel around island figthing the army. i adore this game, but i can admit it probably one of the more frustrating experences to play through it.

@@lucifercon4868 It would be a lot better already, if the encounter rate at sea wasn't so obnoxiously high and if there were a few more or a little bigger Islands to explore.

When I was a kid and I played the game. I used to take Hervey & Siguard with me. And I really never take attention of using Mizuki that much before. But glad that Kika was the best charcters she can dish out great amount of damage with Falcon Rune. I'm going to replay the game. 😊

Honestly I was really surprised that Ted wasn't in the top 5

Suikoden 4 is a real solid jrpg in my opinion, but yes, I liked the other 4 Suikodens better. Keep up the content

I played this game when I was a child. Never expected Dario to be a decent fighter.

I agreed Dario is even has a dish out a good amount of damage. Just give him a rage rune, double strike rune and killer rune.

I'd like to see a tier list for characters in Suikoden 1 (more challenging because there are no busted multi-rune setups) and 3.

I'd still like to see a Tier list of Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean characters. Obviously Claude + Aeterna = game beaten, but with eleven others to consider, which route do you take?

Claude's ability to 1 shot every boss in the game with a normal attack is just too much. I can see the ranking being boiled down to utility over dmg due to stun locking bosses to death being highly desirable.

@@zeosummers3984 So basically, bring in Bowman (Poison Pills) and Chisato (Tear Gas), and maybe Opera (sorry, Ashton), with Rena using Star Flare to stun and heal when necessary.

This is the only suikoden in the entire series where all the names here are mostly forgetable. I remember when I played it I always forget who is who, unlike other suikoden characters are so memorable.

Yeah me too. Cant even remember that some characters are exist. It makes me realize about the real Suikoden Creator's philosophy about "Side Character should have a important role" or something like that I love how he thinks about side characters.. But it's shame he's already leave this franchise since Suikoden 3

Nice Video, you were just missing out how good Eugene is as Character in fight. Never dare to use him because his stats look really low, and he has the fixed firefly run plus low HP 😅 Will he become a good Char when grinding up ?

His HP starts low but he has a massive HP growth, same goes to Defense and Avoid. He's probably the best tank in the game with the Firefly rune, but he does nothing else. Probably high mid-tier. Top tier if the game had more party slots.

I really appreciate you taking hundreds of hours to make this nicely condensed video. No hate, but I forgot how bland this game looked. I tried to 100% it back in the day, but I gave up even before the bad ending.

I got every character in this game and i don't even remember them lol, so forgettable. I like seeing suikoden tier list for the only reason Jeanne and Vikki are always in the same spot and then there is suikoden tactics.

I never removed Jean in my team. I like Maxine too. En Garde!

Her full potrait in S1 with side boobage looks so much sexier imo. And her lady like look and smile in 3 is wifey Jeane no competition.

The 4 person party would have worked if they have some sort of utility for the 2nd and 3rd party. Imagine making a 3rd party purely for support and the 2nd lineup as a backup attack.

What happened to Lino? I didn’t see him.

I realy liked Suikoden 4, it is silly how declaring it the weakest Suikoden made people conclude that its a bad game, as its one of the best RPGs released on PS2. 2:45 - What??? what do you mean with no rune? (5sec looking) - Suikosource : Suikoden IV - Rune Complete List - Red Rose Rune (Schtolteheim Reinbach III - H (fixed)), played it some years ago, but i clearly remember he has it (if not, then he will get it) i realy like double vielding Lazlo look, you compare the artwork of other characters to ingame model of Lazlo what is manipulative way to force your opinion, but it does not convince me.

I get what you mean. People give it a hard time when it has great visuals for the time minus its animation, awesome music, fast battles, imo the second best major battles in the series, an awesome True Rune and while there are problems with characters such as too many sword wielders, can't use six characters in battle and there are less playable characters, the characters who stand out in the game are superb and are some of the best that the series has ever had.

With proper rune, my final team is lazlo, kika, snowe, and ted. Coop lazlo and snowe can input 2000+ damage

I think i understand why people don't like it so much, but i absolutely love Suikoden of the Caribbean.

I like the main character (Lazlo) in S4, other chars? Not really (cant forget how they treat Lazlo, the one who sacrified his life to save them by putting him on a ugly boat after he died in the bad ending). I dont know there is any meaning in that action or not but back then I felt unhappy about it. It's not as good as other Suikoden games but in my POV, the worst one is Suikoden 3 (the only thing makes me playing it was Sasarai). Oh, I like Kyril and the Rhapsodia too. Glad to see another W leader attack.

Suikoden 4 is a bad suikoden, but it's still a pretty good RPG. However. I'll only play it on an emulator these days, to speed up the sailing patts.

As a Suikoden fan it really grinds my gears when people say it is a bad Suikoden game, but a good RPG. It's not. A good non-Suikoden RPG would be FFVI, Lufia II, Chrono Trigger, etc.

My only issue with Suikoden games and Suikoden series in general is that there's so much to do and so many things to achieve but there's really no point to do that considering if you do the bare minimum you get to beat the game, but It you do more you literally oneshot the final boss making you feel like you wasted time. Wish there was a hard mode for these games.

My dream wish is a fan hack that adds new game plus with all your recruited characters but hugely buffed enemies and bosses

10:20 If you want to make some characters even more busted, Suikoden IV's rune slots are determined solely by their magic stat. Max out Kika's before Level 99 to make her even more busted!!!

yep, the worst Genso Suikoden of the series hands down. heck, Genso Suikoden 3 is overall better than Genso Suikoden 4. fact. i believe Suikoden 3 sold more games than Suikoden 4 as well. still, pretty fun to play it. i was surprised that Ted wasn't in the top 5. he got 1 of the 27 True Runes at that time. 1 of the reasons i play this game. nice video by the way.

what i hate the most of this game is only 4 party member and very rare compose multiple team

I don't get how you can compare Gensou Suikoden IV to The Room. One is actually considered a good game by many people and the other is considered a so bad it's good movie. That is not the same thing. If I could compare Gensou Suikoden IV to anything, it is the Prequel movies for Star Wars.

I never get why this game let you recluit 108 characters but only 4 in fights. Suikoden II does it better on that.

Yeaaaah sorry chief but Kenneth is way better than Tal. Tal may have better stats but he wiff's attacks far too often and by end game none of the 4 Razril knights are truly worth using. Kenneth starts off with a Lightning Rune which just clears early game with ease and is generally consider a must take by most people who have played this game quite a bit.

I bought this for the PS2 for cheap and maybe put 5 minutes into it. Graphics were pretty poor at the time and have aged like fine milk.

I try to pretend Suikoden IV is not bad.

first suikoden i played so i have a soft spot for suikoden iv. it is butt ugly though, the graphics have aged so badly. the characters are so lifeless looking

I think this was a decent Suikoden but if you compared it from 1 to 3.....It's nowhere near the story

Suikoden 3 was worse in my opinion, just couldn’t get into it.

Personally, I really liked Suikoden IV. Is it the best of the series? Absolutely not! I will say that I'm in the minority in that I actually disliked 3 the most...

I completely agree with you. 3 was hands down the worst.

Suikoden IV was vastly superior to Suikoden III and that is not even close. Suikoden III was a hot pile of garbage with the worst cast of characters, the worst combat system, the worst army combat, the worst....EVERYTHING!

Suikoden IV is such a vibe, the combat and the combos are nice, though I agree it feels empty and a bit weird. I wish they focus on some aspects more, like Troy, Snowe and other things
