I just came into the comment section to answer the question in the title. The dab as it's known today, that the Migos popularized with the song "Look at my dab" is sliiiightly different from the exaggerated movement/cringe meme that soccer moms turned it into in the coming years. (You didn't have to always put your face entirely eyes deep in your arm) The hip-hop dab was as much a head movement as it was an arm movement, and your hands were curled or balled into a fist, not completely straight like some sort of weird dab crossed with a karate chop. You can see Migos doing the movement about 10 years ago. Long before their song, "Look at my dab." (For an example from 7 years ago, look at their song "Emmit Smith")
