    Actually a great scene. When Eddie pulls out the bottle for another swig, and realizes the booze has brought him nothing but more sorrow. He's been at the bottom of that bottle since he lost his beloved brother. You can't drown out the pain of the past forever. You have to face it. -ex alcoholic

Plus, he probably felt that he was taking it too far in getting drunk from drinking too much alcohol after his brother got murdered since it was mentioned after his brother was murdered he (Eddie) became an alcoholic.

    @@pyramidhead138 That's true. I guess after Eddie's brother Teddy got murdered, Eddie somehow wanted to not remember his brother getting murdered by drinking a lot of alcohol by making himself drunk especially I remember in the scene where he was looking at pictures of himself and Teddy, that made him sad where he must have drank alcohol and passed out and got drunk.

    @phillip walling I think he stopped hating toons after he found out that it was Doom who killed his brother so while he searched who the real toon murderer was, he had hatred for all toons. He did say that he doesn't hate Roger since he knew that Roger wasn't the murderer.

    @@phillipwalling7470 He does still hate toons I'm sure in this scene but, I think the reason he took that toon gun was because, he was about to go into Toontown and which is why he didn't use his non toon gun to enter Toontown. Also, he probably knew Doom was in Toontown and probably the point of the toon gun was to shoot and kill Doom while in Toontown using the toon gun. (At this point Eddie only knows that Doom murdered Marvin Acme and R.K. Maroon and after Doom removed his disguise, Eddie found out that it was Doom who murdered his brother Teddy which Doom said since Eddie said whichever toon murdered his brother, the toon had boiling red eyes and a high squeaky voice which he saw and heard in the Acme Factory).

  • @phillipwalling7470

    @phillipwalling7470

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@afriendofbean @afriendofbean Yeah, I get that Toons are practically invulnerable to anything except the Dip, but the Toon gun is obviously not designed to shoot only toons down. One of em destroyed the bottle without effort and 3 of those "Dum-Dum" Bullets were meant to go after Doom, but they thought he went the other way. The Bullets are sentient, keep in mind, like most Toons, so there's a Good reason why Eddie never used that gun up till this point. And I'm pretty sure at *This* exact point in the scene, Eddie didn't know Doom killed his brother until his reveal, but he has known he's behind Maroon's and Acme's Murders, so you're half-right there. But how could he know Doom is in Toontown until Jessica saved him in the alleyway? He was after Jessica because he assumed she killed Maroon.

  • @afriendofbean

    @afriendofbean

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@phillipwalling7470 That one Dum-Dum bullet was probably the only smart one to destroy the alcohol bottle since it knew that Eddie was aiming to the bottle while the other three who got shot out of the toon gun were probably not paying attention to where Doom ran off too just to kill him. It's unknown as to why Eddie used his toon gun at that point where maybe he thought his regular non toon gun wouldn't kill toons with non toon bullets which is why he put it away throwing it in his car. (On the other hand I know the weasels are toons but their leader named Smartass has a non toon gun which I'm sure he would have used it on Roger Rabbit who is a toon). That's right, Eddie didn't know that Doom killed his brother until Doom removed his disguise and when Eddie saw his boiling red eyes he had the look on his face like he was saying "oh my gosh, it's him. I recognize those eyes and that high squeaky voice" especially Doom said that he was the one who killed his brother with that voice. That's true, I made a mistake that Eddie thought it was Jessica who shot and killed Maroon because after Maroon was shot through the window, Doom must have ran off and Eddie saw Jessica thinking it was Jessica who murdered Maroon which is why he chased Jessica into Toontown and when he saw her telling her to drop her gun explaining he doesn't trust her thinking she shot Maroon. However, Doom was still in Toontown because he ran off when he saw Eddie thinking he can't be stopped.

    I always loved the message of the indigenous bullet being the one to take out the whisky bottle, considering how devastating addiction has been in Native communities.

    Bet Eddie was having those “booze” comments in his head he heard from his peers when dumping that whisk bottle & shooting it. “Have 🥃, Eddie.”, “I heard you changed your name to Jack daniels.”, “from the smell of him, I say it was the 🥃 talking.”, “he looks to be a sensitive and sober fellow.” and maybe from Eddie himself “scotch on the 🪨s.” + “🥴” & finally “I don’t mind, if I do.”.

    As a child I always laughed at this scene because it was funny and Eddie was getting ready....................As an Adult, I see the deeper moment when he goes for a swig, and ends the cycle...............They don't make movies like this anymore.
