If Mews is available then he's got to be that pick. Right hand D are hard to come by and this kid has some great tools and I'm sure will certainly put on a few pounds.

I think the leafs pick Charlie Elick a 6’3 right hand shot defenceman plays for the Brandon weat kings had 4 goals 23 assists for 27 points in 65 games and some have him projected as high as 22 and as low as 50 by Craig Button this could be a good prospect I think

Elick would be nice too....I think it depends how this draft goes. There are so many uncertainties in this draft. Even 2nd overall...could go Demidov, Levshunov, etc... gonna be a fun one to watch!

leafs definitely don't need another small d-man in mews. Elick is the guy their looking for imo

Either EJ Emery, Stian Stolberg or Charlie Elick

Agreed they 100% should go for a defenseman. My FAVE is Badincka!!! 6'3 RD, 190 lbs. Not a lot of people talk about him as a first rounder but his profile to me usually screams first rounded. Love his composer under pressure and defensive work, not great offensively or puck handling but can still make a good breakout pass and distributes. Pretty mature game for his age imo. I can see any of Mews, Elick, Emery, Freij, Badinka, Jiricek or Solberg being a good pick for them on the back end (not convinced they won't trade down even though Dubas isnt there anymore).

I’ve seen a lot of people putting EJ Emery at 23 for Toronto… I hope they don’t take Freij because I want him at 33 for the sharks :)

I think Charlie Elick would be the perfect pick. Big RHD. Wouldn’t mind EJ emery at all either. I think it’s gotta be one of those guys.

I think that Cole Hutson would be a good choice for the Leafs.

Leafs need to draft a top rated goalie. Last time in their history they traded Rask to Boston and have not drafted a number one goalie, since Felix Potvin in 1991.

If the Leafs are smart they should draft Cole Hutson This coming from a Habs Fan But knowing the Leafs they will draft a forward and stay top heavy Greentree Jiricek Chernakov Boisvert Won't be available lol 😅

Possibly...I think it depends who is available at that time. So many variations can happen in this draft...it's gonna be a wild ride.

Depends on who gets picked up to 22...so many variables in this year's draft. Gonna be a fun one to watch!

alfons freijs ... just for the name? :p pick the best available player, regardless of position. The Leafs are in a win now mode, no one at 23 is going to help them ASAP - unless as an asset in a trade - if not, you get to develop a potentially, really good player for the future.

this was a good presentation, but your commenters are the worst.

I'd consider trading it just to move tavares honestly, especially if their ideal picks at around that time are taken. Like if there's another Easton Cowan ready to be drafted, maybe you can make the argument not to trade it, but if the draft is worse than Knies and won't help in the next 4 years, I'd trade it.

​@@wizzerwiser2056NMCs* technically and people get moved with NMC all the time. It's up the the players. JT I can't see waiving but Marner, definitely a possibility. The Toronto market just gets to him. He definitely would consider it especially if there is a nice payday on the new team

@@wizzerwiser2056 It's the last year of JT's deal. He had to know, with the way the deal was structured, that he would be traded at the end of it. His career is winding down now. Management knows it. The fans know it. And he knows it. A team can get him for less 1 million dollars salary now. As for Mitch, I don't know why he would actually want to stay in Toronto. The fans are tired of him, and he doesn't look like he wants to be here either. Be that as it may, the Leafs aren't going to pay him the 12 million he wants. I wouldn't even pay him 9 now. He can go somewhere else to get the 8th year of that 12 million dollar deal. He wants that. It's important to him and his father. He will go to get it.

@@Katie-hb8iq First off JT has a NMC and also has a young family. So he's not being traded and asked for the NMC so he couldn't be traded. As for Marner and his dad. It was the same with Willy and his dad when he got his first big contract years ago. Yes the Leafs can give him the 8th year or do a sign and trade. Either way if Nylander got $11 plus why can't Marner.They're pretty much the same player. The fans aren't tired of Mitch. His critics are in the media. Their opinion isn't everyone's opinion.
