You're absolutely right. In the cases of Warren vs The District of Columbia and Gonzalez vs The Town of Castlerock.. SCOTUS determined that police (local ,state and federal) have no legal or constitutional duty to protect the individual ONLY the community at large. This is why I will never be disarmed because my personal safety is my responsibility.

Looking at life sentence a corrupt Public Defender talked me into accepting a plea deal of 18 months...ruined my life because of corrupt Sheriff that had a personal vendetta (grew up in my hood).

My brother is a cop and was a wild teenager so since becoming a cop he always overlooked the smell of marijuana if he was just giving a speeding ticket or if people are polite he doesn’t give tickets to, he actually has got in trouble for no giving enough tickets, there are some good cops out there but there are a lot of authoritative Ahole cops who don’t know the law and think they can do whatever they want.
