So uryu is A for antithesis. I remember you ot someone bring this up. And it just hit me, uryu might not have a power. Uryu is kind,fight on behalf of the pride of the Quincy. But the sternritter or ywhbach but of his grandfather. Who didnt hate shinigami but wanted coexistence with them. And it seems like ishada are a family who might have been the family to say "no, we aren't gonna follow you and your agenda ". This could be WHY his dad and grandfather said " we are the last of the Quincy " he never wanted uryu to be apart of ywhbach plans.

Pretty sure Tommo's schrift is T - The Top Tier Content

They are the true representatives of Yhwach's ruthless drive even if they are ultimately expendable in his endgame. Still, the fact that a few had epiphanies and turned on him means they were not above it all. As Nodt destroying Byakuya was chilling whil Bambietta's struggles with PTSD postwar gives her a somewhat sympathetic edge even if she is/was a psychopathic killer. Overall the Quincy forces were their own brand of badass given they brought Soul Society to their knees.

I hate that Bambietta was kept arourd. All what made awesome Komamura taking her down was blown off. It was that Bambietta's ability made her specially dangerous among the Sternritter who would have inflicted enormous damages and casualties to Gotei 13 if she hadn't been taken as early in the 2nd Invasion.

@@Junkmeister Nah they are heaily inspired by Angels with some German elements thrown in, which sadly also included some subtle Nazi references, though ironically enough they are as far from Nazis as you can get considering how insanely diverse their organization is.

The Sternritters and their letter-based powers is a very cool and creative concept. I can't wait for them to show up in the new Anime. And I hope we learn about the two Letters we didn't get.

Love the sternritter! My favorite is Jugram & quilge i look forward to seeing mor from all of them especially bazz.

I read the TYBW last year, and they just gave me this sense of dread, and anxiety that no other villains in bleach have done before. It was great writing

During the whole story it always been about different cultures/human experiences ....as well as, there is Japanese ,German,Spanish, names and influence mentioned...,but, most of all it is about the human/personal experiences people go through

All these characters need are fleshed out flights, more interactions, and backstories and they can be just as good if not better than the espadas. However even with no changes I think the fandom should give them a chance because I think Kubo still did a good job with the sternritters!

@@anime_editz2779 The biggest leverage the espada have over the sternritters is the fact everyone has seen them animated. Once we see the sternritter in the new anime I feel a lot of people will change their minds about them

EDIT: TYBW SPOILERS (sorry) This group is seriously underrated because Kubo unfortunately got ill. He didn’t give them individual fights and backstories. How were characters like BG-9, Mask and the Bambis recruited into the Sternritter? What does Lille mean when he calls himself the first messenger? Which of the Sternritter were there a thousand years ago? Hopefully we’ll get the answers in the anime. But it shouldn’t be understated how they got the first kills in the series and were way more threatening than the Espada. Plus the all white look suits them way more than the Arrancar js.

kubo said he had around 10 years worth of content in the tybw arc. unfortunately he was given a deadline and was under time pressure all while being ill. just imagining if bleach got the treatment it deserved and if it was still going on today is so disappointing seeing how it actually turned out, especially knowing kubo had massive plans for the final arc. hopefully the anime will do it justice and give it proper closure

@@gig7932 I agree 10 years seems too long. Considering the Arrancar arc was around 5 years and was plenty long. I actually do think that 25-26 volumes would’ve been enough for the story. I actually really wish we time-skipped and headed straight to the TYBW instead of the Fullbring arc. That would’ve given Kubo a lot more breathing room. Plus he really should’ve took a hiatus. He owed it to himself after the Deicide arc.

@@mra3076 Another big issue is that Kubo doesn't know how to pace his fights. His draws out a lot of fights and writes unnecessary ones and ends up rushing the actually important fights.

@@gig7932 Definitely. FKT arc immediately comes to mind of course. Starrk, Barragan and Harribel were screwed in those fights. I actually wasn’t too fond of the matchups as well. Kenpachi fighting #5 whilst Hitsugaya fighting #3 is questionable. That’s just a personal opinion though.

Honestly I've loved the Sternritter from the start and still love them now, infact thanks to them the Quincy are my all time favorite Bleach race. Tite Kubo created an entire power system based on the Letters of the Alphabet, and gave each of them a distinct look and personality which made me absolutely love some and love to hate others. I would also be remised to mention The Volstanding the only transformations that whether it be there visuals or functionality I put as equal to Bankais.

0:07 I don't want to jinx anything with how they actually handle the anime adaptation or anything, but I really, really respect the people who made it possible for us long-time fans to finally have our dream come true. As annoying as it was in the moment, I don't really think any prominent people in the Bleach community were nasty about Kubo and the issues he was dealing with near the end of the manga, and we've all done nothing but patiently wait, believing that this great property will get the ending it deserves. Sure, money is a factor, and having a big fanbase that will pay whatever they need to in order to finally see the return of their favourite anime universe, but I've gotten the feeling on a few occasions now that the people who make the decisions are plugged-in to what the fans are saying, and might appreciate our loyalty to this series. Whether all of this is true, or I was wrong on a couple of things, the people who made this happen have earned my heartfelt thanks.

Tite Kubo sure is great at coming up with beautiful names. Jugram Haschwalth is just delicious to say. Driscoll Berci sounds like a love incantation, and of course Szayelaporro granz is gorgeous!

Just rewatched your video from a couple years ago about the Gotei after TYBW and a couple things struck me, Mr. Tommo. One, the change in microphone was a huge help. Two, your delivery has gotten better and better. Great job, dude. Can’t wait for Bleach to come back!

To me, each Espada and Arrancar are in it for themselves. The Sternritter have more of a connection with each other other than just the main goal.

Exactly. After all, Hueco Mundo is a place where every hollow eats the others to become stronger. Some people critizise Kubo over the Espadas but for me, he did exactly what they were supposed to be in keeping with the lore.

The final arc reading is kind of a blurr for me since i would binge read several every few months so it wasnt as continous as the anime, which is why i remember the enemies from before this arc, maybe the anime will change my mind on them. This arc changed my mind on the quincy whom I always saw as weak due to the anime et .

Completely unrelated, but will we ever get a character analysis video on orihime? People's opinions of her aside, she is a character that is undeniably relevant throughout most of the story and I consider her to be very underrated.

That was a great breakdown and a massive help to me. When I was reading the manga, which I did because of you, I was so impressed with how it was written, They were potrraied as almost unbeatable. Your comparison to the Espada was also interesting. I never looked at it that way. Most of the main characters seem to have well fleshed out back stories. But I do hope that Kubo does even more with arc. They were are freightful enemy. One that I don't think the Gotei 13 have ever faced before. I love Bleach beyond all other anime that I watch. Thank you for breaking down everything in these videos. They have been very helpful. And I can't wait for this to be animated. I will admit that somethings did confuse me. Hopefully seeing the story unfold in the anime will help. So thanks again.

I'll always say it..... Final Arc/Stern Ritter > Arrancar Arc/Espada for me. Love all of Bleach, but the Stern Ritter made me feel genuine fear (no pun intended, As Nod, lol).

I think based on TYBW anime doing as well as it has, as well as just how beautiful it looks, you were not wrong man! I personally think the sternritters are so cool, and not to parrot your opinion, but Askin is easily the most interesting to me. Although I have several sternritter characters that I feel are equally as cool/interesting as him. I guess he’s my favorite because I really just find him to be very similar to myself personality wise. Like just the way dude talks and playing dead and stuff like that, are probably what most of us would do in such an insane situation as TYBW!

Seeing the Sternritters in all their glory will only make me saltier about the way the Espada were handled. But at the end of the day we might see something in No Breaths From Hell? And I cant wait to see a fully allied hollow-reaper front against the Wandenreich

Considering how the schrifts work, it's weird that he covered the whole alphabet without repeated letters. Excepting the whole thing going on with "A" and sort of "Y". Like, did Yhwach go out of his way to find people with powers suited to each letter and ignore tons of other potential minions just to focus on the Alphabet?

I get your critique of the Espada.. but if Kubo went all out with all of their battles then the Sternritter would’ve just felt like a boring retread of the Espadas. It’s by design that Kubo allowed them to lose at the expense of showing us how strong the Gotei 13 were, and to keep Bankai reveals in his back pocket - only to then introduce us to the Sternritter much later; showing us the power gap in comparison to the Espada.. It’s proper power scaling, and well executed IMO. Also the series is called Bleach because Kubo wanted all of the villains to wear white, but he felt “Bleach” was a cooler sounding name.

I think it would have been really nice if you explained what is a Quincy as a reminder to non manga readers such as myself. I totally forgot their general role in the bleach universe or their history.

Quincy are basically humans with spiritual awareness who (for the most part) use bows and arrows made of reishi. Unlike Shinigami and Hollows who use their inate reishi for fighting, the Quincy fight by absorbing reishi from the environmental to create their weapons. This is done using a Quincy cross and they are more powerful in reishi dense areas like Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. They have similar techniques similar to other races like Hirenkyaku which is their version of Sonido or Shunpo. There is also Blut Vene which pumps reishi into their veins to harden their skin.

@@nikasa4260 that's just simply not true or confirmed, they said they will adapt 3-4 chapters per episode so more like 50-60 episodes

I hope we get more scenes with sternritters interacting since the biggest problems with any villain group is that they mustly just have battles that are barley focused on them

The Sternritter you said to pay attention to are mostly ones I really like (not a fan of the zombie one tbh), especially Bazz B and Bambietta

was hierachry based of letters going backwards z to a and royal guards uryu was only one who got a given legit upset for shadow of ywach

Since we will soon get tybw maybe before it you could make discussion about Ichigo human world friends so Keigo, Mizuiro and of course Tatsuki. I think it would be interesting since they are present in almost every arc and even Shunsui himself does interact with them in tybw Another thing I thought about is bount arc discussion since in my opinion its the real Uryuu Ishida centered arc unlike what we got in tybw and also there are a lot of similarities between bounts and quincy.

as much as you say the sternritter don't have a 'ranking' per-se, i can't help but notice that the more powerful sternritter (and juha) have schrifts earlier in the english alphabet (e.g. A for Almighty and Antithesis, B for Balance and Burner Finger etc.)

You're kinda right we have A Yhwach's successor, B Yhwach's right hand, C member of the elite guard and pretty much Yhwach's dad if you think about it. D member of the elite guard. E the most powerful female Stern Ritter. The only ones who kinda spoil it are M, V and X.

The Yourself brothers also already had their schrift before Yuha

There was a Quincy rebellion sub arc but it lead to no where. Bazz B, Liltotto, and Giselle wanted to kill yhwach

Bold prediction: I think the anime premieres on October 1st

Since there will be more fight scenes and other things added to the anime, do you think that we will finally get a twist at the end of the anime where Aizen fights Ichigo again? Or do you think it will end the same way?

Probably end the same way. There really is no reason for them to fight again after the final battle (even if they had the chance).

Would love for you to talk about games. You are an amazing KZreadr. Still going to say how upset I am that Disney got the streaming rights for Bleach. I am still going to do what I need to and watch this anime the way it was intended. New Netflix jail is not preventing me from enjoying this series. We have waited too long for this crap.

0:10 that's because it's factually incorrect. A release date can't be literally around the corner, unless it is written somewhere around an actual corner. Gotcha there, buddy!

I like the Star knights. They are mostly good characters. The problem is with their abilities. They took the unique think that the quinces had and basically changed them into soul reapers. Think about it, they all get a letter that basically represents their power; fear, fire, love, lightning etc. but then they have a volstandig that amplifies their ability to the next level. That’s literally just a shikai and bankai by a different name. The only Star knight that actually used Quincy techniques was quirge. Which is why he is one of the best in the series and had a great fight. But everybody else powers operate just like shinigami powers.

Funny thing is when I heard that the Quincy were defeated by the soul reapers to the point of extinction and some were put through Mayuri’s experiments I thought were more like the WW2 party that were victimized and not the perpetrator.
