Gutteral language, near incomprehensible culture, weird habits...The Rieklings are French?

Perhaps their Religion is the literal inversion of the Skaal. My theory is they worship Knowledge and Civilization Evolution, whereas the Skaal essentially worship Nature. You can see them praising random, inanimate objects because they think intelligent civilization and their deeds like building whole castles is so amazing to them; almost Godlike. So, if this there were to be the case, of course they would worship objects made by sapient, civilized races. Of course they would guard a whole castle made by a powerful being for over 200 years. Of course they would try to learn the most common tongue in Tamriel. Of course they would have the strongest and wisest become the chieftain. And as far-fetched as it sounds, I think it may be a possibility with the Dragonborn DLC's quite prominent theme of knowledge and herma-mora and whatnot. This could also explain why they have issues with local Nords; they try to leave nature as untouched as possible, while the Rieklings want to use nature to become intelligent and strong. With their close proximity, I do think they would engage in a bit of... Arguing.

Maybe eventually somebody will civilize the Reiklings(Chief DragonBorn most likely) and they'll be able to slowly integrate into society, oh the thieves guild would love to hire them I'm sure. Also I can imagine something of Reikling paper boys or whatnot running newspapers about.

I always assumed Reiklings were a shorter stocky subspecies of goblin, like they had the same ancestors but evolved differently. Like how the polar bear evolved differently from the grizzly but have the same ancestor species

i actually kinda love these dudes. I always like to side with them in the Mead Hall quest bc i love it when you're just questing on the island and they show up to help you fight. they're really clever and i'd like to hear more about how their culture evolves in future games (not like a whole quest, but maybe a book or some nerd who studies them or whatever)

I personally love these little guys. Take a team of them everywhere I go. Have to love mods. Some of the best fun I have had was using an alternate start mod I spawned on Soltheim. Then RPed as a Skaal that had been found as a child and raised by the Rieklings. I challenged the leader to honorable combat after killing the weak Nords that thought they were going to reclaim Thirsk from my Riekling brothers. This allowed me to rise to the leadership of the tribe. After that the tribe had many adventures with me traveling across Solstheim and Skyrim. Goora the Tall will go down as the greatest leader in Riekling folklore for her many battles alongside her tribesmen. Including facing Dragons, vampires and even some guy in Ebony Armor that thought he could challenge her leadership. Tribal Strongholds were built in many places. One the native Nords called Lakeview manor.

I think they will eventually be worshippers of Haemus Mora, Daedra have a tendency to want to be worshipped like the divines as seen with the reclamations.

Ever been to solstheim?

The difference in size between the larger mainland rieklings seen in ESO and the smaller ones found on Solstheim centuries later is likely explained by "Island Dwarfism."
