I really love The Sandman books. The tv show was good, but I think the race and gender swaps were a little unnecessary. Plus, they could have done better with the designs of the endless we got to see. They didn't even try with Despair.

Do you Know Dreams have no Gender ore race. This is pointed out in the story. And despair would have to walk around naked and that would be a bit too daring for a 16 series.

@marcel schäfer I know dream and the other endless don't really have a race or gender, I'm talking about characters like Constantine or Rose Walker. Plus, the tv show has shown nudity and cussing already. The problem I have is that Despair just looks like a normal human. Yes, I know they can change their appearance, race, and gender and it changes throughout the time the endless exist, but they do have a proferd form for each of them.

Here's another thing: Did you know that the look for the endless are based on different rock singers from the 80's ? In the books anyway.
