In the Lord of the Rings, the Corsairs of Umbar were notorious for their seafaring piracy along the shores of Gon-dore. Umbar, an ancient Númenórean port, was first settled by the King's Men, devoted to the King of Númenore and rejecting the divine authority of the Valar.
