The strangest town in Alaska.
At Dreaming Spanish, you will learn Spanish the way you learned your native language, namely, through immersion. Simply start watching content at a level that is comprehensible to you, and gradually work your way towards more and more advanced videos.
As researchers like Dr. Stephen Krashen have shown over the past 40+ years, receiving comprehensible input, that is, messages that you can understand in the target language, is what actually results in language acquisition.
By listening to our stories, cultural expositions, conversations and games, you will get used to real Spanish as it's used in context, and develop a native-like intuition for the grammar and the vocabulary, together with a clear pronunciation.
Experience the language. Become the language.

I just accidentally ended up in this town yesterday because of a road closure so had to watch again. How fun to see a place Agustina talked about. It was raining so didn’t see much, but the town was cute. Takes over 6 minutes to get through the tunnel! Apparently it’s the longest in North America.

Gracias Agustina por hacer este video. Soy profesora de castellano acá en Alaska y voy a usar este video con mis estudiantes. 😊 Muchos de ellos conocen Whittier (incluso yo). Así que será un tema conocido para ellos.

I finally subscribed to Dreaming in Spanish after watching Andrea's videos. The subjects are engaging, well researched, and interesting. I find that counts for so much when learning, as it's easy to tune out. Thanks for all you do! I am learning so much!

I usually watch up to intermediate videos but I worked in Alaska for a couple of summers so I was able to understand this advanced one, I even learned a thing or two about Whittier! Thank you for the video! I would love to hear Augustina compare Alaska to Patagonia, considering they have a lot of similar geography

Enjoyed this video. I'm leaving this comment for those who are interested. I've been here, but not to really visit Whittier. A friend and I were taken out about 50 miles form Whittier to sea kayak for several days. Amazing experience!! And, yes, the history of the town is interesting. Didn't know anything about it until we returned. We were surprised to learn about the history from the locals. Beautiful, beautiful area!

@frenchcomprehensibleinput is good. Go to the playlist marked A1. The only issue is that there aren't nearly as many videos as Dreaming Spanish
