She wasn’t sick, she went on tour with a torn vocal cord.

By far the greatest vocalist I have ever heard. That head voice is so angelic and her transitions are seamless. She’s absolutely incredible.

Should we even debate any longer, who is not only the G.O.A.T , by the most talented and gifted singer that ever lived and will ever live?!! I dong think do. This icon/legend has set the bar so high that very few if any can equal her. And no one can deny that her vocal dynamics are out of this world, Godly head voice, one of a kind tone, timbre and range, emotive ability, and diction, not to mention her stunning beauty( let's not forget this diva was once a sought after model, who was contracted y the Wilhelmina model outfit in the "big apple") I rest my case!!

That head voice!. Heavenly. God and the angels needed her back. I understand that now. I just thank God for the time we had with her. Her album cuts has her head voice on full display too.

This makes me shed a tear. I grew up with Whitney and have seen her live. The live experience is unreal. Her voice literally transforms the atmosphere in the room. If you get a chance, you should check out "All The Man I Need" from this Japan concert. It's one of the first versions she performed on tour. All of her live performances are amazing, of course, however this version, featuring her interplay with the saxophone player (Kirk Whaklum) is truly breathtaking. Another performance for comparison is "All the Man" for the Billboard awards that year. A total different take but equally amazing for her interpretation. Thank you for your work.

Kasian, I am an addicted Whitney fan, because from the first time I heard her voice, I predicted that she would not only achieve superstardom, but that she has the best voice ever, and I was convinced that she was the most talented and gifted singer who ever lived!! Whoever said she is the greatest female singer of all time?! Not true, rather she is the greatest singer that ever lived and that will ever live, male or female. As Kasian says, " this woman, this woman, this woman can sing man!!!". I love it, cause this is exactly how I feel and has felt ever since I first heard her unique,God given instrument (vocals) on one of her #1 hit song " you give good love". I am so serious man, cause on that occasion( first hearing her amazing pipes), I abruptly called my spouse for from the kitchen to look at the video ( of " you give good love") , and told her then in no uncertain way that Whitney would be the next superstar in the music industry. She not only achieved that in rapid time, but in my estimation, easily surpassed that to achieve legendary status and became the GOAT!! She simply has no equal and is untouchable. I always say that other great singers may possess some of her qualities, but definitely not all. She had the goal package and in my estimation, is the only singer/ musician to ever achieve perfection! Some may ask why. Well , it is simply that her vocals were given to her directly by God!! Her head voice was the best in popular music. Even at the end she still had it. There’s an audio of her singing He, I Believe in 1991 (I think. It might be 1990) wheee she unleashes some of the most angelic head voice notes the world has ever heard. It’s towards the end of the song. Whitney can Damn well go in seventh octave in Prime in head alone and she did have a whistle register that she used for embellishment at times.

And that was with a cold. She took it down a couple notches which was still miles ahead of everyone else.

I have said repeatedly in previous comments that Whitney is the most talented and gifted singer that not only lived, but will ever live. And I gave given my reasons for this carefully considered position. But let me give here in this performance, apart from her unmatched head voice, a few other facts that justify my conclusion. When Whitney does her runs and riffs, they are not only strategically placed, but are done with unequalled agility and what seem to be impossible control and resonance. Her transitions are also done seamlessly and with little effort! This legendary vocalist was sent by God yo sing to us. I simply cannot understand how this legend of a singer can achieve such impossible vocal versatility. It had to be given to her directly by God. Indeed, it is as if God is singing through her body! She simply is notches above other singers. I have to agree with you Kasian that a lot of what she does vocally is directly attributable to her amazing head voice. But other factors are her one of a kind tone, pitch, timbre, emotive ability and of course, her legendary control
