So many Black women sound like queens to me. Voice is powerful but held back and it has a tone all of its own. I looked for this quality in the voices of women of other races, but it is just not there. It sounds like silk and grace. I dont have it. Maybe i could take voice lessons. I want to.

I don’t know why white people feel as if they have the right to treat Black people any type of way…and feel like they are a privilege to us Blacks. Clearly, he was being inappropriate and even more clearly, I could sense that Whitney felt VERY UNCOMFORTABLE with a white man kissing her in the mouth! Throughout this entire video, you could see him being a pervert and very suggestive towards Whitney. Watch the way she jumps EVERYTIME she has to look at him or he moves near to her! It’s disgusting!

6:50 she was so generous to kiss him like that.. if it was me I would've died right there, with a smile larger than the universe
Her hair was everything!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It is great seeing this video again. I greatly remember first watching this episode back on March 14, 1986.

Dam I’m watching this on March 14th 2020. Paul Sucks...!! Lol
So sad but thanks Whitney for sharing your gift
beautiful here and she was like a big star way back then
oh my god, I remember watching friday night videos as a kid, because we didn't have MTV,VH1,BET,and all the other music video stations. Shit I don't think we had cable period. LOL
This is awesome. Yea shaffer is awkwardly creepy but with all the talent he has and all the talent he's interacted with, he knows he's amongst royality. Yet Whitney is so humble and sweet, just doing what she does.
Sang, sang, such a beautiful voice
but he is so nice and so respectable. I loved when he started playing and it was beautiful the way Whitney just started signing "You are everything and everything is you" she seems like she appreciated his sweetness and kindness...she deserved that....
Miss. Houston was the bomb.
✨✨btw, if you weren't there ,,, Whitney hit the scene , like a ton of bricks !!!🙏🏼✨😀#Bamm !

I can feel that Paul isso inlove with her, who else is not. 💙💞💚
Paul comes off instantly creepy. He must have had a huge crush on Whitney because I've never gotten that vibe from him before. Here he glows with creepiness throughout this video.

Whitney here is So clear eyed and bright....
I remember watching this in '86. I thought it was a gross interview then and it took me about 30 years to come around. I do like him now. I wonder what he would think of this interview today.

I thought the same weird vibe in 2022 Paul was like a creepy uncle - how old are you body of a 23 year old - yikes except he was caught on camera - the stuff that women had to endure
missing u whitney 😍😘😍😘😍
In just one year, Whitney didn’t just have hits but had impact.. Imagine Paul saying she’s his favourite singer… that’s the highest level of impact
He’s the most awkward interviewer ever!!! Whitney was trying so hard to bring life to it hahah
0:23 nippy looks so uncomfortable
I think Paul's sexual comments were inappropriate and disrespectful.

Whitney ♥️ 🎤 🦋 ♥️
To Whitney it seems all through your life you wondered were you good enough....from your fans of today on many post We always did think you were better than good enough...you had nothing to prove you did your thing... RIP WHITNEY E. HOUSTON...your legacy still continues..
this is really good !! dam Paul been lucky ,what an awsome woman everything in her was beautifull !! singing with so mush soul !!! loved her...
Paul Shaffer was a little creepy here I think but Whitney... all class, even at 22! She could sing a court summons and make it beautiful, lol
He's so creepy when he looks at her.....
This is actually a rerun from a 1986 segment with Paul Shaffer and Whitney Houston, with clips from 1988 added like the music video for New Edition's "If It Isn't Love."
Nippy I love u truly madly deeply..😘❤
How amazing to see this graphic again! I used to record the show every Friday on VHS, go out to the club and watch it when I got home. Good times!

Such grace, talent and beauty. Men just lost their minds around her and act creepy lol. Rip Nippy!! Singer are not designed like you anymore. You were such a blessing to humility.
@6:51 Paul was so happy about that kiss.
Beautiful
Did y’all see that look he gave after he kissed her on the lips, like he had scored something...the cringe.
