Episode 17: We are almost finished with our Ladakh journey. Now, its time for the Extremes. We need to reach manali but in between we have lots of obstructions that will stop us from reaching home safely. We have to cross the Mighty Baralacha La which is buried in snow, the roads are gone & the danger has arrived. We will take you on this route & show you how dangerous baralacha la is & will also show you how beautiful it is, if you want to look that way. It is going to be awesome, as the views & heights will change. The level is going to go up from here. Fasten your seat belts because the second half of our Ladakh Trip is going to be the greatest adventure one can take, so hop on with us on this Amazing adventure which is going to take a Complete turn from now. Bara-lacha la also known as Bara-lacha Pass, or Bārā Lācha La, (el. 4,890 m or 16,040 ft) is a high mountain pass in Zanskar range, connecting Lahaul district in Himachal Pradesh to Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir, situated along the Leh-Manali Highway.
The Bhaga river, a tributary of the Chandrabhaga or Chenab river, originates from Surya taal lake, which is situated a few of kilometers from the pass towards Manali. The other major tributary of the Chandrabhaga, the Chandra also originates from glacier in this region. The pass also acts as a water-divide between the Bhaga river and the Yunam river.
Folklore states that there were two lovers, Chandra being the daughter of the Moon and Bhaga the son of the Sun god. To perform their eternal marriage, they decided to climb to the Bara-lacha-la and from there they ran in opposite directions. Chandra being active and smart, easily found her way and reached Tandi after covering the distance of 115 km (71 mi). Soon Bhaga was found coming with great struggle through the narrow gorges to Tandi, where consequently both met and the celestial marriage was performed. Bhaga covered about 60 km (37 mi) distance, which was very difficult.
Baralachala means summit with cross roads from Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar and Lahaul meet here and in ancient times it was part of a trade route. On the North West lies the Bhaga River while the Chandra flows south-east. Near below the Baralacha-la is having a beautiful emerald lake the Suraj tal (Sun lake), the source of the river Bhaga.
A pilgrimage for every rider. Ladakh is a destination that every traveler has on its list. The difficult roads, getting stuck in Manali traffic for hours, standing hours in the que to pass Khardungla, waiting in line for that one mandatory picture on every pass on the land of high passes and many more memories that a traveler to ladakh carries with him. Bikers eagerly wait for the news of leh manali highway getting open every year. The craze of going ladakh cannot be seized by one and every year more and more tourist check off Ladakh from their bucket list to visit back again. We being our traveler self witnessed all this and carried all the memories in our heart and came back with a promise to show you Ladakh like never before. The series is going to be epic. Ladakh ("land of high passes") is a region in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir that currently extends from the Siachen Glacier in the Karakoram range to the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent. It is one of the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir and its culture and history are closely related to that of Tibet. Ladakh is renowned for its remote mountain beauty and culture.
The largest town in Ladakh is Leh, followed by Kargil. The government of Jammu and Kashmir created a separate administrative division from Kashmir division with headquarters on rotational basis 6month(summer) in kargil and 6month in leh(winter) Tibetan Buddhists (39.7%) and Hindus (12.1%) collectively represent the majority of the population while a plurality of Ladakhis (46.4%) are Muslims (mainly Shia). Other religious groups include Sikhs etc. Some activists from Leh have in recent times called for Ladakh to be constituted as a union territory because of perceived unfair treatment by Kashmir and Ladakh's cultural differences with predominantly Muslim Kashmir while people of Kargil oppose UT status for Ladakh.

@@satpal6714 You are wrong..They have always uploaded videos on time. May be due to some reason they didn't upload their videos in last 3 weeks. We all are humans. No one is perfect. Also take the case of Flying Beast. He never uploaded videos on time but today he is India's second biggest vlogger. Also these travel vlogs are interesting to watch when they are long and in detail.
