Whitehorse Ledge, Standard Route into Slabs Direct Var. (5.7 Crux)
It was memorial day weekend, so I drove up to meet John in Brattleboro, VT. We stayed the night at his parents cabin then at 4AM we drove up to North Conway, New Hampshire to climb Whitehorse Ledge. This was the biggest climb I have done to date. It's only going to get more intense from here on out. I'm so glad I can share this journey with all of you. When I did that climb 11 years ago I ended up getting stuck at that tree above the crux. My girl friend at that time was having trouble so I took out a few gear placements so she could just climb. She ended up swinging and by the time she got up to me it was nearly dark we had no water and she could go no ferther we had to get rescoud 😅😅🧗♂️

You made it to the toilet bowl in one pitch? 70m rope? I started towards it but when my belayer called out half way mark and I hadn't placed any gear I turned and went to the launch pad.

We started at launch pad. Did you start at the ground ?

Oh from the video I thought you went from the ground directly to the landing pad. Yes I started from the trees hoping to do pitch 1 and 2 together and end up at the toilet bowl skipping the landing pad. Was a bunch of people top roping the first pitch

@@trailslippah good when it's dry, very sketchy the day after rain. Always be careful and do your own risk assessment. 😅
