I've been to Whitehawk matches and loved everything about it. Family and belonging comes in many forms. I'm a Liverpool fan so I know what it means for a club to be about more than just football.

It is a club that makes a statement that anyone identifying with the LGBT+ community is welcome and any behaviour that is phobic against those who identify as part of that community will not be tolerated. It is located in a corner of a city that prides itself on being a tolerant and welcoming place, so it really is only a reflection of the area it represents. However in a game where there are so few openly gay players it really is a shining light...if only more clubs were keen to follow their example.
