you need to check out When a Demon Defiles a Witch as well as A Bloodsoaked Symphony

I'll second A Bloadsoaked Symphony, the vocal patterns and riffage in that song are amazing.
Finally whitechapel! With that I have a few suggestions that I'd still love to see: Fit for an Autopsy - Two towers Make them suffer - Ether Dark tranquillity - Lethe

New FFAA is solid, but Absolute Hope will always be my jam. Saltwound would be an awesome one for a reaction too.
Absolutely need more Whitechapel! They're all monsters with their craft.
Dude, check out "A bloodsoaked symphony" by these guys. It's a very personal song but heavy as fuckery 🤘🤘

Awesome! I would love to see you do one on "When a Demon Defiles a Witch".
I feel like Whitechapel has the ability to veer way into the "dad rock" sound, and not sound overly cheesy. They're just a few guys who are growing and experimenting with their sound.
Man I've been waiting for you to check out Whitechapel. My favorite band. This album is a masterpiece.
You need to check out the song "History Is Silent" on this album. It will blow you away.
You picked one of their "softer" songs, as they have been going a lot more in that direction recently (which is not a bad thing, they are really damn good at it). Highly recommend "Forgiveness Is Weakness" or "A Bloodsoaked Symphony" for their other side.
My favorite song of new album whitechapel 😎🤘
Red Miso by Animals As Leaders soon. I think it'll really scratch alot of spots on your composer brain :)
Just saw these guys the other night and wow what a show.
Awesome vid, Geebz! Never heard anything from Whitechapel, but definitely heard their name over the years. Fantastic song, and they did a great job with using effects all over the place and layering things throughout the song. Their singer has a really good ability to go from clean to growling, too. That's pretty quick in my eyes. Great recommendation, and thanks for the vid, man! Keep on rocking!
They've simplified their riffs over time so that they sound cleaner and heavier live 😋
Death metal + metalcore = deathcore
Death crystal mountain.
Their song I Will Find You is a really good one too🔥

Love what you do Geebz, I find your videos very insightful. I’ve got a request: Vale of Pnath - The Horror in Clay Really any song from their album “II” is absolutely amazing, can’t go wrong!
I haven't really listened to Whitechapel. I remember hearing some of their stuff years ago and because I wasn't into harsh vocals at the time, they weren't my cup of tea. I wasn't expecting this. Sounds a lot like Breaking Benjamin to me. Not saying that's a bad thing. I need to go back and check out their older stuff now that I listen to more Death Metal.

You don't hear new, original and great melodies like that anymore in metal, this song is a gem.
Please do Hickory Creek by them!!!!
There album somatic defilement they did is my favorite version of white chaple personally, but I really like and resped how they've grown from there
Great band. Their music is starting to take a more progressive approach than the earlier stuff. They're also from my hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee.
If you do more by Whitechapel you definitely need to do “Diggs Road” very epic. Highly underrated tune.

like a musically average Opeth etc with better engineering for me. Major label Metal in a nut shell.
Love Whitechapel. Please take a look a Bloodsoaked Symphony.
Phil and the entire band are too fucking good at the clean side to only do regular deathcore
I'd love to see you do "Hope is a butterfly, no net its captor" by Rx Bandits. Super funky, technical song by a great band. I just discovered you today, and I gotta say it's so much fun seeing you enjoy a song for the first time, whether I've heard it before or not. I can recommend "Lost Boy" of Whitechapel. Great track.
Hey Geebz, would love your thoughts on the track Utpada by the band Eximperitus. Thanks for bringing attention to some of these lesser known/underground bands. Alright 🤙
I’m Glad these guys grew up .
Whitechapel is kind of that band you should do the slow burn on....... they have heavily evolved, and the differences are extreme
I saw these guys live about a decade ago and it was like being run over by a bus. This is definitely a huge departure from their earlier sound. I'm not sure I dig it but good on them for trying something new.
Ohhh, you gotta hear "Bring Me Home" from them!!
This is on of their meloer songs!
Loved everything about this except the soft vocal parts. That's just me tho, no fault of theirs. The rythymic structures and progression, the guitar parts and sound, the production/engineering and the overall song composition. Excellent! Rich the Ancient Metal Beast
Please do glory box by Portishead and Farewell Mona Lisa by Dillinger Escape Plan!!
I just hate I didn’t get into their stuff sooner.
When did WC start doing singing vocals? I dont know much about them but the few songs ive heard were all heavy heavy

check out the album The Valley, clean and heavy songs about the vocalist's mom and childhood. Highly recommend
I, Dementia and Breeding Violence were the first two songs that I heard from these guys probably because they have music videos. I dig their stuff. To my ears they have a deathcore/groove metal slant with some doom metal thrown in. I didn't even know they had any clean vocals in their music. That's a pretty cool evolution because one I didn't know Phil, the singer, had it in him, secondly it gives the band a depth that I didn't know they had, and lastly a certain contingent of deathcore fans are completely against clean vocals because they're "purists". I guess some people don't like variety. Fun fact: Ben Eller, a youtuber who teaches guitar on the site, has recorded with them and he's written some of their guitar solos including for the previously stated, I, Dementia.
Want to see them at their heaviest look up the song eternal refuge from the album this is exile
"paradigm shift" by Candiria.
Should listen to their song This is Exile
I think its time for DARKO US. Also im so sad i never got my CIRCA SURVIVE song.... sad noises

How have you not done All them Witches yet? Open passageways!!!
The first time I heard him sing I almost shit my pants. Who knew Phil even had that in him? The man barely speaks 🤣
This is only technically whitechapel. Check out the song from them Messiahbolical

I took the time to look in to these guys after seeing this vid and I like the blend of clean and raw. Raw on it's own does not do it for me. Love this track.
this is definitely one of their lighter/softer songs. most of them are much heavier, or more like the heavy parts, anyway. they're generally considered Deathcore.
I absolutely love Whitechapel and the direction they took with their sound, definitely need to do more by these guys👍👍👍👍👍
This album was my favorite album of 2021. It’s a masterpiece. Keep in mind this is such a different direction for the band. They used to be a crazy intense deathcore band with no singing. Over the last few albums they started incorporating more singing and now it’s a MASSIVE part of their sound and I love it. They’re incredible
Thanks for these awesome decompositions. Would love to see a reaction to anything by the band "Bright Eyes."

boy, has whitechapel changed.
I'm not sure if he realized they have three guitarists. I don't think so because I would think he would speak on that as it's not a common thing to have three guitarists in a band.
Crazy. I've never heard Whitechapel sound like this.

Indeed. I hope to never hear them sound like this again. This was generic as hell. It came across like pop-metal (FFDP/Saliva/BB/Etc...). Very low on substance/innovation. High on catchy simplistic riffs and hackneyed vocals.

Exile is their main song, that's the one even random metal heads are aware of.
Sounds like Nickelback but heavier.
New Era Chapel!!
Never heard this track, seems softer..
hmmmmm. meh. first time hearing here too. Unfortunately they sound like a much less musically interesting Opeth to me, but with what I like to call 'major record label' singing. Sounds great engineering wise but most major lable stuff does doesn't it.
Fuck I guess I won't be looking up whitechapels latest songs... wtf
Actually deathcore hahaha But this is definitely not what I think of when I think of Whitechapel. That said I don't really listen to them.
After hearing this track now I don't think this is a good representation of what White chapel is musically. They're typically stupid heavy. This was more ambient rock. Which I did like but this does not sound like White chapel to me LOL

Hmmm. They started a heavy Deathcore band, now they sound like a radio-friendly Tool clone. Not my vibe, but I’m sure they’re selling more records.
Okay... so now there is some really cool 'Rap'... Tom MacDonald! How bout The System!
Lead singer sounds exactly like someone and it's driving me crazy... but when he growls he reminds me of gojira. Thought they might be a religious group from the name but that's where jack the ripper murdered a bunch of people. wasn't my cup of -tea- coffee

As someone that loves old Whitechapel, I still thought Kin was one of their strongest albums by far. Metal elitists really seem to think it's some cardinal sin for a band to evolve over the course of 16 years. Besides, there's more to 'heavy' than just 0s and gutturals. A lot of Kin is more emotionally heavy, ala Spiritbox's "Constance". It's fine if that's not to your tastes but it's not a bad album just because it's different.
@necrosis07
2 жыл бұрын
@Kiryu_Kazuma I see why it could read that way but it was specifically targeted at OPs last sentence where it's being implied that one, Kin is not heavy, and two, that fans of 'heavier' deathcore wouldn't like it much. At the end of the day it's all a matter of taste of course. I personally thought Kin was even better than The Valley (which is one of my favorite albums) but I knew it was going to be divisive as soon as I heard "Orphan". In fact I'm of the opinion that Somatic Defilement was their weakest album (still great btw) and that they've mostly steadily improved ever since.
This doesn't even sound like the same band I remember from years ago. This is terrible.
Do old school white totally different
This is my first time hearing this song and I though it was like breaking Benjamin or some 2000s metal like that 🤣
