I cannot get enough of the talent here! First, one of my favorite drummers... second, the lyrics that are so personal, come with heavy messages and have been very emotional. I pray you find Jesus in your heart though (if you haven't) and go on an upward, that is for sure! Some songs from prior are also so true to today, it is incredible. Keep up the brilliant work!

Initially, years ago, I admittedly wasn’t totally digging this less technical and more personal lyrics driven era that Whitechapel were heading into. But as I’ve gotten older, experienced more hardships and life struggles, and allowed my taste in music to mature, Ive realized that Phil and the gang are just more interested in painting a dark, Malevolent personal expository, and a relatable yet menacing landscape with each new album. Rather than a collection of loosely similarly titled songs with seemingly random themes of evil and violence. And I Can now understand and appreciate such writing.

Yes! I felt the same way, The Valley is true art and this is an amazing direction for them to go in. It also must be extremely cathartic for Phil and it's a healthy outlet as opposed to burying the pain. I still love the three albums prior to The Valley, and their stuff before their self titled is fine but mostly just generic edgy deathcore, but this new material transcends anything a band like Whitechapel ever seemingly should've been capable of.

What you see in the video is Phil's evil self; the Kin (?), showcased in Lost Boy. That evil Phil has the same love for his parents and hatred for the stepfather, so he kills his stepdad and sacrifices him to an ancient god; the eye you see on The Valley album art, in order to resurrect his mother and father, pull Phil into his own reality and fuse with him eventually, but the problem is that those parents are just shells of themselves, like lifeless moving creatures who can't talk and have no consciousness. I think this can also be a connected to the song Brimstone, where Phil kills his stepdad brutally in his dream. Phil is an incredible songwriter. I can't wait to hear this! The grooves are freaking heavy and the video looks sick!!!

I’m speechless. Horrified and glorified. This is absolutely incredible. Dark and darker. This band is in another realm. Don’t think I can love whitechapel even more than I do right now- and we’re still awaiting the full ep! I thought after the valley, it was the top… but this transcends

God, Phil is so majestic. Such a good song. No other band in the entire world can stop a panic attack dead in its tracks for me, except Whitechapel.

The lyrics, the meaning, the melody choices, the groove, heavyness and tast of the song, not even mentionning that breakdown...everything is done so well can't express my love for this song

Just like every Whitechapel song and record, I was nowhere even in the realm of being ready for this.

My dad was hit and killed by a car about 30 feet from our house. This was back in 2016. I got no justice, no answers, nothing. And even though he wasn't the greatest dad and even though it was so long ago. I find peace in this song for some odd reason.

I've watched this video twice. And I've cried both times. Wasn't expecting it... I haven't cried in about 10 years, since I lost the most important people in my life. There is shattering power and soul in this album. No music has ever affected me this way before. Every single track on the album gives me full body chills.

If there's one thing that I think is underappreciated about the "new Whitechapel" era, it's the subtle nods to appalachian/folk/country music that is actually present in some of the clean guitar intros that are prevalent on the last two albums. Almost like you're arriving in a small western town from aboard a frontier train. It reminds me of the ornamental tremolo guitars in the ambient soundtrack for Red Dead Redemption. It plays such a small little role in the textures of the songs, but it's something I picked up on and really, really enjoy. :)

While he's not my favourite, he puts a level of emotion into his vocals that I can not find in any other vocalist and that's what makes him special

God that first palm mute 🤯. The guitar tone on this is wild! Mix is top notch 👌🏽

Shit, it really sucks that most things that feel authentic in art come from suffering and pain that artist has to endure. I can't recall listening to anything that was this heavy and yet at the same time had such beautiful and devastating lyrics. Sometimes it feels like it’s an everyday struggle and any problem seems so disappointing, even makes you depressed rarely. But then you see and hear this. I have both my parents but I lost my grandfather back in 2019 an I lost a dear friend of mine she meant everything to me I just wish I could see her beautiful smile again

That feeling when you want that connection with your folks but it can never and won't ever happen because they are dead inside but you crave it like you need to breathe and you'll do anything ANYTHING for that connection to stay alive this slaps

I don’t really like this type of music but this song drove me somewhere. anger and emotions and love at the same time. Great song.

What I've never understood is why big-ticket Horror films don't use this type of music with their imagery. I understand the music isn't for everyone, but it's literally the soundtrack to horrific cinema IMO. Whitechapel have been kings of this style of writing for over a decade. The Somatic Defilement completely changed my musical tastes and opened so many doors.

This video hits very close to home with me, personally. I was raised by an alcoholic and abused as a kid growing up. Today, they are both deceased and cremated in their Urns'. I have had many dark thoughts and even went as far as making a few "attempts" of my own. Despite the Hell I endured growing up, I miss them both dearly. Today, I teach young kids' how to play guitar. I play guitar in an aspiring band "Chaotic Demise". Based on our past lives', abuse, current events and the direction we are all headed in. For all of you out there that still have either or both parents, cherish it now. They can leave at any given moment. Even your grands. I have more of my fair share of emotional scars.

You can really feel his energy in the execution of this song. God it's so fucking raw.

Watching Whitechapel grow for the past 14 years has been such a fucking great experience. The direction they've gone in these past couple tracks, leading up to the new album, is so dark and explorative and I so look forward to see what the future holds for this band. @Autumn Stevens well, to be fair I am quite a bit older than you 😅 and it's not about how long you've been supporting them, as long as you do! 🥰 I'm just one of the lucky ones who caught them towards the beginning of their career (I was 15/16 at the time) and stayed a fan ever since 🤓

This is my first time hearing WhiteChapel and it certainly won't be the last. SICK!!!!!!!

I don't usually pre-order media, but when I do its influenced by teasers like this. Absolutely amazing song and video. Been listening on repeat since this one dropped. Can't wait for release!

I came to listen to this song expecting only another brutal song I would like, but I faced this masterpiece with some of the highest emotional levels ever for me, it trully made me cry in anger at the end feeling all this pain I could relate. Can’t wait for the full opus.

Chilling... deep...dark . And knowing what happend to his parents when he was young just makes this so real. Absolutely amazing

These lyrics from the first line to the end is haunting, fantasy driven, beautiful. Like a movie

What a huge sound.. crushingly heavy, but matured somehow. Again, no gimmicky "look how heavy this section is" moments, just pure weight and that ominous feel.. just listen to that "Come back to me" section after the 2nd chorus. This is shaping up to be an awesome album.
