Today, we’re diving into a fun styling experiment: can ballet tights be worn casually with a stunning thrifted dress? I recently scored a gorgeous royal blue (or maybe celon blue) dress for just $12, and I’m excited to pair it with white ballet pantyhose to create a sweet, ballerina-inspired look.

Layla, that was a hella find at the thrift, and for $12. To think CDR's are double the price of your dress is crazy. Great design, and my favorite color, I'm definitely impressed with the bargain hunting skills. 1) Who the hell wears the convertible ballet tights with the hole at the heel??? That's NOT what that's for!!! grrrrr........ The hole is there so that you can temporarily reveal the foot, so that you can wrap your toes or put your "ouch-pouch" in, and then you cover the feet back up again, before you put on your pointe shoes. It's to facilitate the transition from ballet (flat) shoes to pointe shoes. (I did pointe for 5 years.) 2) You're NEVER too old to start ballet classes. I took adult ballet classes for probably well over a decade, and there were some older women (women who were DEFINITELY older than you, who were in the class) and it's perfectly fine. If you want to be a ballerina -- you can absolutely do it!

I think the white tights look great. While I like the dress, I don’t think they work together. The dress is too risqué and the white tights imply innocence. A look where you are a little more covered on top would seem to be more appropriate. The blue shoes were a better match than the white ones.
