White Sox ACE Players Tour Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City (2024)

Спорт

"When Jackie Robinson breaks the color barrier, he doesn't do it just for American-born blacks. He does it for every player of color who now enjoys our great sport."
Earlier this month, United Airlines flew four Chicago White Sox Amateur City Elite (ACE) student-athletes to Kansas City where they were joined by White Sox assistant general manager Josh Barfield, play-by-play announcer John Schriffen and members of the coaching staff for a guided tour of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum by NLBM president Bob Kendrick. They had the opportunity to hear about the League's biggest pioneers and trailblazing clubs, such as Andrew Rube Foster and the Chicago American Giants.
NLBM is the world’s only museum preserving and celebrating the history of African American baseball and its impact on America.
"It makes me want to love the game like they did." - ACE player
The group also attended White Sox batting practice the same evening and enjoyed the team's matchup against Kanas City from a ballpark suite at Kauffman Stadium.
