White Rhino VW Engine Case Comparison With TF1 case
In this video we compare the excellent CB White Rhino Aluminum Engine case with the mega stout Precision Alloy TF1 case.
Both are a great basis for building mega-high horsepower VW engines!! I'm sure I've missed some details but leave comments and any questions you may have.
I hope this is a helpful video!

Awesome, yeah it will be worth the wait!
I remember paying (a lot) Precision Alloy for the TF-1 CASE......to make a long story short... THEY JUST COULD NOT DELIVER 🤷🏽♂️ (kinda piss me off) they did send me all my money back. I then call CB Performance and haven't look back.
Great vid 👏👏 Weight difference?

I didn't step on the scale with them, but should have... and now the CB case is undergoing the build - but my recollection was that the TF-1 is a fair bit heavier due to its burlier construction. The CB case though is by no means flimsy! thanks for the comment - Ted
Does the TF1 engine case have the Hover mod done to the feeds on the cam post ? That way the right hand side has 2 feeds .

I think Todd Francis did partially implement this. Here is a line item from his FAQ sheet around this: Standard in all cases is the possibility of running the Bob Hoover mod where oil is brought from the distributor side of the case to the alternator side via not only the groove around the center cam bearing but the groove around the pulley cam bearing as well. I have drilled the 6.1mm hole that goes from the flywheel end of the case through the lifter bores all the way so it goes as deep as the middle of the pulley end cam journal. I then drilled a hole in the journal that is in the direction of the end of the 6.1 hole. I do not drill this hole deep enough to intersect. If the builder decides he wants to use this option he can just finish drilling the cam journal hole so the holes intersect. I have not decided if this is a good or bad thing to do but a lot of guys like to use the option. Bob Hoover claims the extra oil on the 1-2 side keeps that head cooler.
first vid i've been able to find featuring the tf1. sweet. you didn't mention whether or not the tf1 is deep studded on #3?

Thanks for watching! Well, the TF1 doesn't have case savers installed, and the 10mm studs thread directly into the case, so no need for a deep #3 stud. I spoke by email with Todd Francis who creates these engine cases, and he explained to me the case is so strong that it doesn't need case savers! Another I forgot to mention in the video, and wish I would have, is that the TF-1 case has .100" dropped crank and cam gears for extra clearance for gigantic stroker cranks! The included gears are provided by Competition Engineering: www.cevw.com/products.php.

@@vwsandvettes3253 i recall reading on the tf1 website that it has a .1 cam drop. i hear the tf1 is pricey, like 2x. no price on the web site. if you have to ask, you can't afford. i can't afford.

@@redshirt-scotty I hear ya :-) I spend too much sometimes on this hobby/obsession! Prolly shouldn't have bought it but I squeezed my wallet lol.

@@redshirt-scotty FYI. Shawn Geers. Sells them on his website. About $1200 to $1500 I think Edit: referring to the TF1 case
Their website doesn’t instill confidence.
I got a headache watching the camera bounce all over the place. All in all your presentation was disorganized and weak.
