White Politeness in the CHURCH

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey friends! I've got a lot to share with you in today's hot topic video. As a woman in ministry, I was struck by the concept of "white politeness" that ‪@justUSpod‬ were discussing. It's all about being polite to people's faces but then gossiping and criticizing behind their backs. It's something I've experienced in multiple churches over my 15 years in ministry, and it really got me thinking. #churchleadership #pastorswife #womeninministry
The podcasters talked about a workplace evaluation where a black woman received unexpected criticism despite always receiving polite and complimentary feedback from her bosses. I could totally relate to that, having been surprised by similar evaluations in the past. It made me ponder how this "white politeness" seeps into everyday American culture, even within church communities. It's all about being nice and polite to people's faces, but then finding out they've been talking negatively about you behind your back.
I realized that I've always taken people at face value, but this "white politeness" has made me question whether I should address the gossip directly or just put on a fake smile. It's a tough situation, especially as a woman in ministry. I'm curious to hear if any of you have experienced something similar, and if it's exclusive to white culture or more of an individual family thing. Stay tuned for part two, where we'll delve into the topic of people pleasers. Let's keep this conversation going, and see if any of this resonates with you. Bye for now!
Every channel needs to have guiding principles and this channel is no exception. I'm changing my content (mostly)....there will still be game content around holidays like Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter. But I'm adding in the knowledge I've gleaned from my career as a Children's Ministry Director with a Masters of Divinity.

I have the same face value demeanor towards people. Super transparent. I cant stand when people are fake towards me, it's such a cowardly/insecure trait.
